durga shud learn to trust from dev

We know Dev trusts Nitya and Payal. Durga does not.

For someone who was deceived and cheated so badly and suffered so much, she is right in being cautious and not trusting any Goenka anymore.

why did she have to fend for herself when she had such great friend?

i dont think its because of one email.

plus, he suspected his family but did he really do something about it? isnt that betrrayal in itself?

and how come durga doesn't know sonali and her husband(dev's almost brother)? dev shared a lot of things with nitya. or was she just pretending in front of akash?

Dev has to justify himself to audience also. No social networks or Internet either that he knew nothing for 2 years? Did he have no idea about Shaurya's ways that he never warned Nitya and Payal to be careful of him?

Only today it felt like he could think against his family. Otherwise I wondered if he would help Durga in her revenge or hinder it being a Goenka and being easily manipulated to shut up for sake of family name.

Durga need not soften on him unless she knows his reality, distinguished from other Goenkas.

It's not just because of one email. It's because of that email and the entire proceedings of the trial with Shaurya walking free and his parents jubilant, and everything that happened in its wake that Durga has lost trust on Dev. Watching her sister, her only living relation go through hell and still do it, having to undergo plastic surgery, and being tormented by memories she cannot seem to walk away from has made her a justifiably bitter person. A trial in which the outcome could have changed if Dev had been there to support her instead of being ten thousand miles away.

It's easy for Dev to trust them because he is going by his gut feelings and he hasn't suffered much of a threat to his emotional, financial or physical security here. Durga is suffering from the scars of his betrayal, her sister's friend's betrayal, the principal, the police chief, everyone who knew the truth but turned a blind eye to it.

These will last long after the scars of her surgery have healed. Also, Dev has not been victimized much by the outcome of the case, just surprised about what happened to Payal and Nitya.
