"Congratulations Mr. Malhotra!", screamed the young adults. Shravan grinned foolishly and tapped their foreheads.
"Thank you, Ladies and Gentlemen!", he replied in an elderly, husky voice. "But... Where's my Lady?", he asked, puzzled.
"Patience, Mr. Lawyer. Patience!", teased his daughter Anaya.
She scrambled upstairs, annoying him to no end.
"Uff! These children!", he was cross.
"Cheer up Papa! Maa will be here, soon!", assured Yash.
After a few moments, lights dimmed and Mrs. Malhotra graced the occasion of her 25th Anniversary Party. There were soft murmurs amidst a loud announcement :
The Lady Of The Evening!
Dressed in a Royal Blue Saree, she managed to skip heartbeats even at the age of 50. Shravan stared at his Lady Love.
"Mom! She's stunning!", exclaimed Yash. "Dare you Son! She's mine!", sulked Shravan and went ahead to clutch her hand and escort her to the Hall.
They sat on a gorgeously decorated Sofa, exclusively for the Couple Of The Night.
"Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls! Its Showtime!", announced Anaya, followed by loud hooting. There were Varun and Vandy, old but smiling. They were proud parents of two boy twins. And right behind Shravan Suman sat Preeti Pushkar, the Mummy Papa of the smaller Binny and Maya. Their family was happy and complete.
Lights went off and began the dramatisation by Binny & Maya.
"Their journey began as two naughty little friends - playful yet caring"
"Sumo! Meri icecream! Sumo!", Shravan ran behind her. "Ta Ne Ne Naa Neh", she pouted.
"Jao phir Katti!", he sat down on the floor. "Aree nahi nahi! Chalo share kartein hai! Main kuch bhi seh sakti hoon par tumse Katti nahi!"
And they fed each other, the larger bunch of the treat gobbled up by her Highness.
"The best buddies in School and Everywhere with Sumo as Shravan ki Bodyguard!"
Suman vividly recalled the Memory
"Oye Chashmish! Jaakar mere liye ek Vadapav le aa!", ordered , rather bullied the big boy. Shravan sheepishly took the note from his hand when he was abruptly stopped by a figure.
"Ae Gende! Woh kyun Le aaye? Bhagwaan ne pair nahi diye kya?", entered his very own Sumo wrestler.
"Aree Moti!"
"Rahul ke bacche...", she grabbed his collar.
"Aree Sumo... Chodd do bechaare ko!"
The Principal entered the Class. Sumo and Rahul were suspended for the day, while Shravan simply bunked the class cause Sumo wasn't attending it.
At the end of the day,
"Shravan... Tune class bunk kyun kiya?! Kam se kam notes toh likh leta!"
"Jab tu mere liye uss Bulldog se Ladd sakti hai toh main tere liye Class nahi bunk kar sakta?"
She smiled and patted his back. "Yeh le notes!"
Shravan giggled at His foolishness. Sumo had saved him from getting ragged N number of times. He couldn't even imagine himself in school without his bodyguard around!
"But Destiny played tricks and Shravan left for London"
A young but grown up Shravan packing his bag, crying and hugging Suman's photo.
