Would love to know if anyone has ever thought (or felt) along this line...

It is not merely an infatuation (that pleasant feeling of liking someone a lot) nor it is is a secure love (deep and abiding attachment to someone that develops and then is sustained over time)

Are those limerent feelings?

On reading the word limerent, I thought wait lemme google the meaning of it...

and yes, Adi's feelings kind os started in that way and he too was sceptical whether they're right to hold onto but later he started respecting her and confirmed his feelings to be valid

I had to google this and found this one quite interesting.
http://whatislovedrcookerly.com/815/false-forms-of-love-limerence-and-its-alluring-lies/

Based on what I understood, not only Adhi, Sharavan & Sumo are also sailing in the same boat.😆

P.S- Thanks for this post, came to know some new stuff.

Thank you for your replies Amulya and Simran.

What made me ponder about Aditya's feelings as limerence is the fact that how he misperceives things as per his convenience when it comes to Sumo. He is in a particular state where he finds no faults in her. He is blinded by some intense feelings for her and he is rushing headlong into a relationship with a person who I feel is still a relative stranger to him. Its not a healthy feeling as per me and comes across as a hyper-romantic attachment. Such madly in love feelings do not last. They are like sugar high which do not allow relationships the time to naturally evolve. The same ecstatic responses that he has been witnessing lately is not going to be present on a continual basis. Read somewhere that Limerence is love's unhealthy cousin, a child of desire and a sibling to obsession and addiction.

Yes, I feel Adi's feelings for Suman seem more like infatuation and he seems to be impressed by her looks. He was after her from the moment he met/saw her, he doesn't even try to think through and see what this girl actually is or likes.. he does what he thinks is best and makes up stories or lies to get them done. He is taking things that she does out of context and is living in illusion. Its not healthy at all. I don't see any depth to his character and that's exactly what CVS want to portray through his character I think.

The heart wants only what it wants, and the mind thinks only what it wants to, and the eyes see only what they wish to. All permutations and combinations become skewed when these things come together. So if the emotions caused by the skewed interpretations lead to love then perhaps limmerence it is. Isn't that what happened- he came, he saw her and his heart wanted her. He chose to see what he wanted to see, and his mind read into situations what it wanted to read, even if the writing was to the contrary. So he read that by accepting his help, even though she did not, she loves him. And so he forged a relationship by force and coercion, even though he is not the only directly coercing her into the relationship.

But there are many ways to define love- devotion, obsession, adoration. Limmerence is just one of the many definitions. But perhaps, it is love after all.

I don't think it's limerence!!
Limerence is not the word which can be used for their relationship.
Nor is their relationship a love-hate one.
I think it is at a point where words can't convey it's true meaning.
Even though fate is not in their favour at this point of time in life,
Limerence, according to me, is not the word to be used here!!

I feel like Aditya and Suman's relationship is based on Aditya's fantasy. His fantasy that she's the perfect girl for him and she will be his. He is a positive person and is obviously thinking very optimistically - too optimistic for his own good.

I feel like ever since Aditya was introduced his first word to Suman was "beautiful", completely based on looks. I feel like Adtiya still does not know Suman yet - he does not know her likes, her dislikes, her strengths, her weaknesses, he is so absorbed by the idea of them being perfect that he does not realize that they are not, because they still do not know each other well. Relationships are built on understanding which the two don't have yet..so yes, I do to an extent feel like this could be a sort of Limerence.
