I don't really know what to say in a coherent way about the state of the show and the characters right now...so here's a bullet list, a completely random list of things that sprung to mind after watching the episodes of the last week on YT...and fast-forwarding many scenes

1. I thought of why this track as a whole doesn't appeal to many viewers...I thought and thought of it and suddenly it struck me. It's premature, and should've been dealt with much, much later. When you're in love, you gloss over these imperfections in your partner...and it strikes you only when you're living together with them...but by that time- your love for them and the sense of belonging to a family unit enables you to compromise, and the moments of togetherness smoothen out the rough edges.

But the problem with this track is that the conflicts between the two characters, which was inevitable given their temperaments, should not have been introduced at this juncture. It'd have been much more palatable to see it at a later stage when Shravan and Suman were married, preferably. Resolving financial and ego issues and knowing when to compromise and how to communicate can make or break a marriage...so personally I'd have loved this track if it had been introduced later.😊

2. Both the protagonists are equally maddening and pitiable in their respective ways. You want to take a hatchet to them as well as give them a shoulder to cry on.😆

3. Sumo is just surrounded on all sides. She has to juggle her responsibilities towards her family and her sister, her love for Shravan, and her self-respect. In any case, some part of her is going to lose. It's a tough place to be in, where there is no victory. I completely understand this..and also why she is lashing out.

4. Shravan on the other hand...it's so easy to feel for him too, because he is caught in the same rut that he was 10 years ago. He feels unworthy or is made to, again and again in front of this woman whom he adores. Her indirect rejection and lack of acknowledgement takes him to the same place he was when he was a gawky teen. 😭

5. Suman's innate sense of self-respect is admirable, but I'm afraid she is losing her sense of practicality as well...I do think that she overestimated her ability to juggle everything and spend so much on this marriage...which Mami was right about from the start. 🥱

6.Shravan wants to help Suman, it's the only way he gets to express his love for her. 😳He believes more in gestures than in words. His proposal too would just have been a mere acknowledgement of what they've been feeling and what they've been through together all these years. No wonder he is hurt by her indifference and rejection...because whenever she refuses to take his help, he sees it as a rejection of his love.

7. I like the fact that Suman failed, at least partly, in making everything happen because she's not a superwoman like the typical TV serial ki bahu.⭐️

8. Suman is already in a tough place and trying to resolve everything, and spectacularly failing. Shravan's attitude at this point, his lack of understanding must be really pinching her...because she thinks he doesn't understand or trust her. To top it all, she was friend-zoned by Shravan during an earlier track. She never doubts his place in her life as a friend, but wonders if he'll ever be a prospective lover/spouse. In a way, she's been rejected by Shravan because the person whom Shravan gives the most importance to- his dad, sees her as unworthy of him. There's no hope of them getting together with his dad's resistance. Why shouldn't she wonder about how this will all culminate in a happy ending?😭

9. Shravan doesn't really understand why Suman is on this self-respect jaap, and why she can't bend a little. He sees the money he offers as a natural step, in the way he's always helped her out. But he's not understanding the subtle difference b/w Suman the friend and Suman as one of the ladki wale, Pushkar's prospective sister-in-law. He is not able to understand the family dynamics and power plays that comes into picture when a marriage is conducted.

10. Suman too is unable to communicate her feelings properly at the moment, and she is taking it all out on Shravan, who is understandably confounded. As always, she heaps it all on the one person whom she expects to understand the most...but hurts him in the process.🤢

11. Can't understand Shravan's sudden love for Chachi😡 Doesn't he know her reality? He's lost his brains.

12. Can't understand why Suman needs to be the champion in everything...she just can't have it all. She has also lost her brains😡

13. Shravan clearly doesn't respect time or its potential to make or break lives. His decision to wait in the precap- though justified, will not serve him well, because there's a potential competitor in the wings. It seems that ten years have not taught him that time waits for no one.

14. Sumo needs to understand that she's hurting the person whom she loves most and find a way of reaching out to him without making her feelings evident.

15. Wanna smack Ram's gleeful face whenever ShraMan are separating...he really is the reincarnation of the devil😡

16. Kamini Chachi is certainly the Cupid who'll save us all. She felt as bad as Shravan after the dance.😆

17. The most important thing- the new entry. I like him. Seems pleasant, is most probably Nirmala's son (which has the potential to lead to the Ram revelation track), and is not at all serious competition for Shravan. 😆 I do think the jealousy track is painful for Shrav, but is clearly needed for him to realize that Suman is the only person he needs in his life. The show also seemed to be at a lull in this particular week...so this breath of fresh air might be just what we need to take the story to the next level.

Would love to read your comments- all comments, esp. dissenting ones, are more than welcome! 😃

And a humble request to all my forum friends- forget this Team Sumo/Team Shravan thingy and be Team ShraMan. It pains me to see the forum members being so adversarial towards one another.😭 Respect each other's PoV while at the same time disagreeing with them. Remember, we are the most insightful, balanced and brilliant fandom that IF has been privileged to have...that's why we are #1 ! 😃 Let's live up to our reputation!

Solution for Sharman's never ending misunderstanding is

"Let's talk this over

Was it something I did?
Was it something you said?

Shravan- feeling so bad for him. The expressions on his face every time sumo disregards him or his gestures is painful to watch.
But, really what's up with so much concern for Chachi?? 🤢

Sumon- I understand why she is being rude. According to me she can't keep her her usual friendship with shravan as she knows he probably will propose if she does. Probably refusing is harder for her than to drive him away. Or she wants to make him feel like she is not worthy of him and so the extra rude behavior.
But, what's up with this self respect jaap. I was literally praying last night so she won't utter that word. Thankfully she didn't . However, this word has been over used and lost it's charm for me.

New guy- I am ok with him. First reason he is not a threat. Second, brought a break from the usual at least in the last episode.
But, I don't want him to take up too much screen space. He is fun but not so much that I would like to sacrifice shraman screen time for him. Last concern, too much focus on him might cause less screen time for shravan. Do Not want that either.

So hoping CVs will strike a balance.

Ramu- die or take a hike. Unbearable.

Last last, CVs could actually get them married and show how they are traveling the distance. But, sigh!!

Hey Amri
Good to see ur post after a long time (or did I miss any recent ones..lol).Anyway, coming back to ur post, I concur with all except for point 1 abt the timing of the track. Yes, the scenario that u suggested would lend a different tadka to the whole scheme. But,( & this is solely from my understanding of the story), the devil lurking in the background needed to be addressed first.

As an audience, why we are kinda disappointed with the track is the long standing tension between the leads. Sometimes it is Shravan who is drifting away, in the middle we saw Ram conspiring...& now we have Sumo intentionally building up walls. IMO, the balance between light hearted & serious moments in the show have been disrupted...with the scales tilting more towards the latter nowadays.

Why I feel this track is not ineffective is cuz it addresses the elephant in the room which is the play of ego,the importance of communication and understanding one another. Sumo knew that for a less bumpier ride ahead, Shravan had to come to terms with his mother. But alas her good intentioned plan backfired. Then Rat frankly n curtly told her his views on the success of a relationship & where she stands. More than ShraMan, I see this track as a means to put Ram in his place so that he wouldn't hamper ShraMan relationship. Cuz come what may, if ShraMan happened so easily, Ram would always b successful in driving a wedge between them. Ram needs to eat his own words first..n Shravan needs to experience it first hand that his dad (also) had wronged him.

Sumo has no choice but to retract...& Shravan should have no other choice than to force the girl to pour out her heart.

Yeah, both Suman and Shravan are in so much pain. I can completely understand where both of them are coming from.

I want the marriage track ASAP as you said...we deserve it. It's high time now.😡

Unfortunately I think the new entry will take up some space...but I hope he's worth it if he gets the Ramu track going.

Lovely comment!⭐️

Team ShraMan rocks! Thanks for the post Amri... I was getting really weary of the Team Sumo or Team Shravan posts... As our lovable duo bicker on screen, so do we here on the forum. And that makes me sad. Instead, could we please just grab the popcorn, huddle together, and root for Shravan and Sumo to find their way to each other. Hugs to everyone on the forum!

Had been absent for quite a while, but was stalking this forum in silence, Amy😆

I completely agree about the fact that this is one of the inevitable things that would've crept up in a later stage in their relationship. But I am thinking solely from the viewpoint of a viewer- we get so little of happy, breezy moments between the two, that when these tracks happen and threaten the very foundation of their relationship - it hurts!

I can't tell you how agonizing it is to see Shravan in particular doubting Suman every time and seeing her with Ramu-tinted glasses At least if Ramnath had done this at a later stage, I would have had the consolation to see them fighting this together- because by then Shravan/Suman would've at least been reassured of the fact that their spouse will be by their side no matter what. It's a key track that defines this series and delineates it thematically- but i do believe that the treatment has been a little shoddy.

i just loved this line in your post- "More than ShraMan, I see this track as a means to put Ram in his place so that he wouldn't hamper ShraMan relationship" - 👏

I really hope that happens- because I just can't wait for that revelation to happen. I was just revisiting the Shravan receives bad news about his dad episode yesterday- and I would love to see a reprise now, when his father dies for him (metaphorically). And for Suman to support him and show her love at this time. It's needed now.
