Ok one more incident that too of my nalayak juniors 😆
There were some bimbo type girls in their batch who had secret crush on their batchmates. Both of them knew about their dream bf. So they bought roses of different color, chocolates of different brands. Made cards for them...wrote messages in different handwritings. Itni sari mehnat ki 😆 . At 3 am they kept those cards and flowers outside the rooms of those girls. Next day was valentine's day. Ladkiyan farzi me khush. Thinking their crushes sent them those flowers and chocolates. Kisi ne ek dusre se bat krne ki bhi koshish ni ki . They were in their own la la land. 😆

No re...I am bengali. But I lived in Sambalpur for 2 years. Had to learn Oriya...which was a major challenge...coz kids at school started learning the language in grade 1...and I joined in grade 3. I still remember this set of questions and answers I had to memorize for an Oriya test in school...the question was "panas ras ki pori?"...being a bengali my mom and I couldn't make any sense of it...first off we did not know what panas meant...secondly in bengali pori means to wear...and we figured ras meant juice...and we were like what kind of a question is this?? Why would you wear juice?? The answer to the question was "panas ras bada madhuro". Ahhh childhood days are always soo sweet!

Wow...this forum has a lot of bengalis.

If I remember correctly...the question meant how does jackfruit juice taste? And the answer meant it tastes sweet!

If I listen carefully to someone talking in Oriya...I can mostly understand the jist of the conversation.

I know about the highway you are talking about. My sister was learning her driving lesson and the driver took her there once just to make her feel confident about her driving skill...when they came back my father asked them what took them so long. My sister was all excited and told him everything thinking he would appreciate but my father blasted the driver instead for being so careless😆

That road was smooth as silk! All vehicles used to travel at jet speed! So I understand why your dad would get mad...especially when someone is just learning how to drive!
