How I hate this Ramnath!! How can he do this?? This is a breach of privacy. Last time I discussed about the thin line that Suman should not have crossed by foisting a meet between Nirmala and Shravan. But now Ramnath is crossing this line.

How dare he read that letter and then he went even furthur and showed it to Kameeeni!!
And he never had a problem when Suman used to come to his office, he was all into welcoming her with open arms... But now all he can see is her similarities with his erstwhile ex-wife. And talking of this, all his respect for 'Tiwariji' has taken a hike. This man is obsessed with his son. Why doesn't he leave Shravan to lead his own life?

Parents often try to live vicariously through children, trying to prevent them from commiting the mistakes they made. But Ram is now coming across as a really disturbed sort of person. Knowing his son, he didn't even flinch for a second whilst planning to separate him from the girl he has loved for a decade. Does he not care one-bit for his son's happiness?

I am disappointed with the cvs for painting him completely black. Had he shown one bit of emotion for Shravan's feelings, I wouldn't have cared so much. But this is exasperating. He is so unremorseful while playing with his son's emotions.

Pearl, yes he did cross a line. But, I found it interesting. And because this track serves to connote a great parallel between the past and the present
It is a brilliant move by the cvs... though i agree with you that Ramnath was more than annoying today. And what is his obsession with Chachi?

At one end of the spectrum is the son and at the other end it is Sumo... come what may the chain shall not be broken subtly shown today as well😃

I am loving it

He behaves as if he owns shravan. His son is just a puppet for him , whom he uses to satisfy his ego n fulfill his selfish motives. He doesnt give a damn about his son's feelings. His insecurities have now peaked knowing his son loves suman.
Go to hell Ramnath 😡

From where I am seeing is that Ramnath is scared of history repeating itself, no scratch that he is more afraid of being separated from Shravan. He is deliberately drawing similarities between Suman and Nirmala. Apart from being working women and straightforward (Nirmala of the past), they are their own individuals. Do you see any other parallel?

I wish they had shown one second worth of conflict in Ramnath's eyes. Remember the terrace scene, when Shravan was spouting crap about womankind when his marriage matter had come up, Ramnath had this guilt in his eyes that have I turned my son into this!! But now keeping Shravan closer has taken up every priority without caring a fig for Shravan's emotions. Especially knowing how sensitive a guy Shravan is! Does he really knows his son?

@kashya: Thanks for replying dear!

@sapphire3: I won't say that he sees Shravan as a puppet. His obsessionn is keeping his son with him. I wonder how would he have reacted about the knowledge of hravan's love for Suman before the Nirmala fiasco.

Problem is the parallel itself Pearl. Past and present can never be identical, there can only be similarities or past can only inform the present. Past is the ghostly whisper which can scream or shout but, it still remains a shadow. Does that give you a clue?

I guess it either a bad slip from the director or the actor playing Ram missed his brief

@bold- yeah u r right he is obsessed with his son, the mere thought of getting separated from his son scares him to death. But i dont think he wud have considered suman as his DIL prior to nirmala fiasco coz from the very first episode we have seen him as MCP. He didnt like the idea of women working, he saw women only as a homemaker...so acc to him suman didnt fit in his criteria of an ideal DIL

Couldn't agree more..the devlish look on Ramus face after that conversation with Shravan is mind boggling. I somehow felt I am watching a movie of the 80s where the dad was the villain trying to separate the Hero and heroine for his benefit...🤢...
..Though the track requires this I am somehow disappointed with Ramus character turning totally black... I kind of adored father son relationship and their bonding from the beginning...Ramus conversations concerns for Shravan everything seemed so real and relatable earlier and suddenly everything has turned so fake..
More so I am horrified at the thought how Shravan will take yet another betrayal...
