I think he was unable to see her in pain but when he left he turned back I couldn't understand he is totally messed up in emotion ..he got so much pain and heartbreak that he is afraid of getting it again but on other side he is deeply in love with sumo

But he asked if she needs a ride and then leaves knowing she has her car.
Sumon is independent enough and it wasn't a date. So, I didn't mind.

Today as well he asked that guy to drop her off.
I don't know you might think I am defending his behavior but I could see the hurt in his eyes. That's all

It's self preservation. He is a jello o inside. If he even gets a little close to sumo he fears the rejection would destroy him. If it took 10 yrs for him to get past the first rejection...imagine his condition now. He still couldn't go... But in the end leaves but his focus is all over the place.

He is fighting tooth and nail to not fall in love... buy in vain.
