Vikram and Namik are both very intense actors and it's a treat to watch them perform. If it wasn't for them, I would've cared far lesser for their respective characters in this show because the writing so far has been very weak - very little on Shiv and Vyom's development coming to a standstill.
However, 60 episodes later, I hope we will finally see more layers to Vyom and just MORE to Shiv. It's very important for the script to handle the confrontation of both characters' place in Sharaya's life well for the story to be effective.To address your main concern - I don't think Vyom will be the villain really. But I am pretty sure he isn't the quintessential hero either. And he has quite a shady family.
He definitely isn't 100% white but I'm positive he also isn't 100% black either.
I agree about the character development and writing, so far they've been using slow motion shots, slow pans, dramatic turnings etc. all the typical tropes to extend screentime, which I do not understand as all that time could be used to mesh out their three main leads more. Even Vyom's family seems to be full of drama that hasn't been explained.
I've heard that this is a limited show with only 150 or so episodes, if that's the case, they should really work on filling out their characters so the audience can understand where each characters' actions, good or bad, are coming from.
