My assumption...Rajan murdered Shiv...Shiv doesn't know that hence he looked confused over that Rajan-odhni conversation.

Madhvi jaanti hai uss murder ke barre mein...she probably knows that Rajan is hasting this process not because Sharanya is the best option for him but because her memories are a threat which he cannot allow to get revived.

Shiv ko maarna asan tha kyunki uske agge piche koi nahi tha.

He cannot kill Madhavi because she apparently is the wife he loves or claims to love. There would be an investigation, he'd be a suspect , it might tear him apart, so no question of killing her.

He didn't have to kill the witness, Sharanya, because she was already in a coma. He probably thought that Sharanya would never recover...upar se he couldn't risk getting suspected by his son.

He put up a caring face after Sharanya recovered and immediately decided to get her married to his son, taki Sharanya ko kuch yaad hi naa aay...aur wo uski nazron me kayad rahe.
