Hello everyone!! EDT has started with a bang and I am sure all of us are pretty excited for the show to progress. One of the factors which intrigued me about this show were the names of the three leads. These names are pretty unconventional and they are linked to each other in a manner.Along with that these names suit their respective characters.
Let's begin with Vyom. His name has two meanings. The Sky and the Universe. From what we have seen of him in the promos he is a jovial and carefree guy who is also a passionate lover whose love is unconditional.Just like the universe which is vast and beyond limits. That is Vyom.He doesn't have any boundaries. His love is limitless. He is as vast as the infinite skies. He has the indomitable spirit of the heavens which cannot be shaken.
Now we come to Shiv.He is a puzzle. An enigma. An unsolved mystery.Shiv derives his name from Lord Shiva who is the most fascinating deity of the Hindu pantheon.Shiv means benign and pure.Shiv also means a knife or razor.Shiv is the God of Destruction. But He also restores. Now coming to our Shiv,we only got a small glimpse of him today. But from the teasers and his dialogues we can figure out that his love was deep and I believe in order to love someone so deeply one needs to have a pure heart.Shiv must have breathed as a living man once upon a time and he definitely had a heart. So in due course of time we will unravel the mystery which Shiv is.Who is Shiv?? And what is he?What did this pure hearted man go on to become?? Is he the knife which will cut the threads of Vyom and Sharanya's happiness? Is he someone who will wreck havoc and destroy?Or could he be someone who will restore order?Only time will tell.
Finally we come to Sharanya. The focal point of this story. She is more than a mere object of desire for both the men.She is their inspiration. She is their motivation. All their actions are guided by their love for her.Vyom readily burnt himself for her sake and Shiv returned to the mortal world for her.So obviously she means a lot to them. What does Sharanya mean?? The name Sharanya owes its origin to the word 'Sharan' which means refuge.Technically Sharanya means the one who provides refuge. As Vyom said,it was Sharanya who breathes life into his love and without her,he wouldn't have existed and nor would this love.Basically even Vyom who is as encompassing as the Universe itself had to seek refuge in her.According to some texts Sharanya also means 'Dawn'.The sky is filled with darkness until the hour of dawn which marks the beginning of the morning.Dawn symbolises hope in the hour of despair.Dawn indicates that even the darkest of all nights ultimately end. It's in the hour of dawn that the sky is filled with light.Similarly it's Sharanya who fills Vyom's world with light and hope.
Along with this Sharanya is one of the many names for Goddess Durga.Durga or Parvati is the Mother Goddess and the wife of Lord Shiva. She is his other half. She is the One who completes Him.If we go by this theory then Shiv and Sharanya's names are paired. However there is another perspective of looking at this.Parvati is the personification of Shakti or the Supreme Energy.Shakti is the one who makes Shiva who He truly is.It's said that without Shakti,Shiva is nothing but a Shava or a dead body.
Similarly Shiv over here was a dead man.His mortal existence was wiped out.Yet for the sake of Sharanya,he rose from the dead to become Shiv again. It was his love for Sharanya which provided him with strength.Sharanya acted as a catalyst over here too.
Sharanya is connected to both Vyom and Shiv as much as they are to her.I am very much interested to know the characters' equation with each other in the upcoming episodes.
P.S.-I apologise for this long and rather boring post😆
