Saba Mumtaz explains that the birth of her daughter worked as a catalyst to take up writing for television. A Mass Communication post graduate student from Jamia Millia Islamia, Mumtaz dreamt of becoming a film director. "I was planning to get into films when Sahara One asked me to write for Haqeeqat. The show highlighted police atrocities and won many awards. The same year, I delivered a baby girl, so writing from home for TV shows sounded like a more feasible option than directing films." Mumtaz's decade long career has seen several hit shows like Dharam Veer, ..Prithviraj Chauhan among others.
"Over the years, I started enjoying writing for TV shows. I remember how the Prithviraj Chauhan team and I would meet and spend hours at a popular food joint, writing scripts on tissue papers." Taking her association further, Mumtaz has ventured into production with Ek Boond Ishq for Life Ok.

Wow didn't know Saba was the writer for DV. Such a beautiful show . But I think nothing comes close to EBI . EBI is her best work so Far :)very unique and beautiful concept:) thanks for sharing. :)

I still find it hard to believe that someone who can write such trash as YRKKH can also write such a wonderful show like Ek Boond Ishq!!!!😕 😛 😊

I know right! EBI is her best work til date 😃
She has created 3 wonderful and brilliant lead characters!
You know what's more unbelievable than Saba writing YRKKH? The fact that people still watch that crap on SP 😕
