I don't know about you guys but I was sweating and crying during that episode! I don't think I've ever been so petrified in my entire life. Kalavati was so evil that it makes me wonder how Vishwajeetji actually manages to play her so convincingly! Well it's time for my highlights:
1. Tara takes the gun:
How many times in tv serials have you seen the heroine be given the job of making the tough calls and saving the duke in distress? I haven't until I started watching EBI. When she was handed the gun, I started trembling because I thought she would miss! She passed with flying colours and fairly won the game but Kala was super diabolical today and let Radha fall off a cliff. This to me was pure evil because just a couple of minutes ago, he called MJ out for cheating and here she makes them play a dangerous game that she would never let them win in the first place. Honestly, Tara is the strongest female character onscreen right now because she had to choose between either shootinf. at Radha or watching the goons slit her husband's throat. This was a defining moment in that her undying love for MJ spurred her to take a drastic action that could have possibly ended in her killing Radha- How she managed to get all three balloons is beoynd ne because I sure as hell wouldn't be able to breathe let alone shoot undee so much pressure.
2. Mriara shielding one another:
This was so painful to watch! ViCha did a fantastic job here where you could clearly see the helpnessness and the desperation to stop the goons beating them up written on their faces! Tara will bear anything but if you touch her husband, she will find a stick and beat the crap out of you. She will be a human shield just so her husband isn't hurt. Another defining moment because yet again she had to choose. Husband or Radha? She chose MJ again. At this stage, Radha was a lost cause and saving her husband is and will always be Tara's no.1 priority.
3. MJ's reaction to Radha's death:
There was no histrionics or unnecessary rona dhona. He was silent and looked like he wasn't even capable of having an expression on his face. Is it a state of depression? Will he become like the old MJ?
No because he has already been through the whole phase of Radha being dead befofe so he has already faced the grief and anguish that entailed the news of her death before. He was desensitised to the fact that Radha was no longer alive so he doesn't even react when Yug breaks down next to him. He simply tries to console Yug by stroking his head. It was such an apt reaction because it would have OTT if MJ howled and cried like a little child. He was strong and sensible about the matter because he knows the responsibility he now has to fight for justice. No amount of cryinf is going to bring Radha back (it's not an Ekta serial).
4. Tara and Baba pep talk:
The recurring theme of this episode was showing the crazy lengths Tara would and will go to save her husband but here we saw that she is human after all! Not some miraculous superwoman who can magically solve all the problems she faces. She also has doubts, insecurities and fear that she is incapable of doing anything. I liked how they showed her lose a little faith and cry out her frustrations. What I loved though was her determination to at least give it a go. So much fighting spirit! It's not going to be easy though.
You know I felt bad about how poor Radha died in the episode. It was all a game of chance and unfortunately the chanves of Radha surviving this time was very very very low. Kalavati likes to kill off his oponents in style so that's why she made them play a game but in reality Mriara had no chance of winning.
