MY BROTHER MRITYUNJAY - This title is dedicated to the best scene of the week/month!
What an episode ...It was overwhelming, touching and still haven't got out of it...totally affected me!😭
The CVs answered so many questions and cleared a whole lot of doubts...👏.
Aditya is back from Mars finally but jittery, Nimmo questions,"Why are you so anxious, anything serious? Adi gives a rhetoric reply, "When does Mrityunjay go back to jail." So its now a Gang of Three who wants MJ back in. She replies, "He is out on parole, he will go back for sure but it might take some time." Adi again, "Mom do you think he will keep up to his the promise?" Nimmo with sheer confidence, "He has no other option, I did not raise him for nothing to turn into a rebel. He will surely keep his promise." Aditya you better spend sleepless nights and get drunk over your worry of MJ falling in love with Tara...for they will...so deeply that it's going to rattle your mere existence! To that Nimmo replies, "That will never happen...I will break them so apart by the time I am done with them, that they will fear coming to together. I have full faith in me" Vasu comes asking for Mrityunjay. Nimmo in a snooty stern tone,"Neither am I his caretaker nor yours..Go look for him yourself, GO." She is saddened by her mother's tone that anger of the previous day was still there. She goes away quietly.
Now this scene explains that even if Tara and MJ were to try and make this marriage work it would not happen...even civility to each other would be seen as a threat to Nimmo, Rudra & Aditya. Hence I love the way the CVs are making it possible for them to connect outside this danger zone oblivious to this evil scheming trio. The strangers meeting does make sense to me atleast!
Tara in her room thinking, hears noises of a fight and a person take off, goes to investigate, finds everything quite so comes back only to find Meethi dancing in a frenzied state without a care. She trips and Tara gets hold of her.
Nandini looks at her old phone pictures and remembers the Club that Adi and she used to haunt. Makes plans with her friends hoping to meet him there.
The most amazing, yet touching and an emotional scene between Brother and Sister - 😭😭
Mrityunjay enters the room to see Vasu sitting at the table, he notices her wet cheeks. Walks upto her saying, "Its said that one should express their emotion freely. Crying helps you to feel lighthearted. Let it out, you will feel good."
Vasu still teary-eyed, "Thank you Ro bhai I am not gonna cry." Mrityunjay laughs for the first time..."Now you have spoken like Mrityunjay' s sister."
He sits at the table and says, "Let me see, what were you going through?" She shows him their family album. He browses through the album,"Oh that's you right. You have been fat since then." She nudges him no I am not fat. He continues," Mum is holding you in her arms, she had held you so close...after all she loves you a lot" Vasu replies sadly, "That was then Bhai, things have changed now" He quizzes tenderly, "Why do you say that?" Vasu complains, "She is neither bothered about me nor my happiness she does not care anymore...she has no time for me."
Like any other older brother he cheers her up and makes her feel wanted and loved by saying, "Hey...that's not true, if you want to test her love, scream now, she would be the first one to come to you, moreover you are growing up now, she is unable to understand you at times. Shall I tell you something? Mother adores you the most...you are her sweetheart"...and pulls at her nose lovingly. Vasu lightens up yet needs his assurance so asks, "Really? You think so?" He gives her his most adorable smile saying jokingly, "Maybe"
Then Vasu turns to him asking, "But Bhai I don't understand one thing, I don't see you anywhere in these pictures...I can only see Adi and myself..where were you at the time?" He looks at the pictures a torn smile that reveals his pain, yet how is he to hide the truth, so lies, "You are right it seems. I might have gone to play." Vasu not satisfied with the lie, "But so many pictures, were you always playing during family photo sessions? Didn't mom ever taken you in her arms and click a picture with you?" The smile is gone...the truth hits home...how could he explain to his little sister..he was an outsider...the orphaned outcast .😭😭 Mrityunjay heaves a sigh, or else the tightness in his chest would have choked him...puts on a fake smile telling his little sister,"Actually, it so happens that...it's a secret" . She smiles yeah her brother is leaking out his little secret, how many big brothers do that ehhh, all smiles she waits for his reply. "I will only tell if you come closer, She does he then checks out to see if anyone was listening...making it all look and sound very secretive..she is loving this little game, " You see this brother, is very much camera shy" Vasu laughs who might be thinking this burly brother of mine is afraid of a mere camera! He goes on, "I hate to get myself clicked since childhood." Oh dear me, "Why are you so shy..since when?" "You won't disclose it to anyone right?" She nods a No. "Pakka" "Promise" She giggles,Mrityunjay continues, "Go and give a tight hug to mom. Everything will be fine." then holding her hand in his large warm one, tells her to promise him she would do it. Gets up to leave and pats her teasingly calling her "Fatso!" Vasu looks at his retreading back with the smile gone... Did Vasu really believe her brother's story or believe that everything would be alright with her Mother with just a hug!
Viraf despite being such a big guy, the softness in his tone, that awesome smile, the sadness in his eyes...and the girl playing Vasu whose eyes lit up when her brother was beside her, she was in awe of him...just nailed it. Even whilst typing...my eyes glistened with tears...👏👏👏😭😭
Meethi breaks down and confides everything in Tara saying, "I am not just lying to you but to myself as well. I am habituated to lies and have left the truth behind. The truth is Adi has never loved me, not before marriage nor after marriage. It was I who got trapped into his fake love"
Tara is confused , "Jhoota pyaar...but he got married.."
Meethi continues, "You must be wondering why he got married to me right...if he had his way he would never have married me nor accepted the baby in my womb. When Baba got to know he forced him to get married to me. No doubt I am living with Adi but I can't breathe of my own will"
"And the baby?"
"The sad part is neither did I get the baby nor Adi. I lost not just my own but what was never mine too...since then I try to find a reason to live and this dance is my support...I share my anger, my frustrations with it."
Tara now finds it easy to open up about her own problem, "I am married too, but I have not had even a glimpse of my husband's face till date and neither am I keen on seen. Who would want to see the face of someone who has committed such a dastardly act? The fact is both our marriages are nothing but compromises. Baba tried to do good, you too cant divorce Adi because of your family and nor can I. The truth is our fate is similar." Then says, wipe off your tears Meethi, because now Tara has entered you life, I promise that even if I don't set my own life in order, I will solve all your problems, and for that I will do anything." They hug each other finding solace and comforting one another. A sisterhood is being born...whilst here the first crack in her relationship with Nandu was shown.
Nandu at the club, sees a drunk Adi being helped out by a Club guy. She goes to him and helps him out and takes it upon her to drop him home, in Adis' car. He is sloshed out...saying that he misses her, calls her his sweetheart, and then compares her to Meethi and talks against her. Nandu keeps asking who he was talking about, he does not mention the name. He speaks of a separation from her. Adi gets off at the Shekhawat Mansion. Nandu is shocked to know Adi lives in the same house as Tara.
Tara walking upto her room...thinking of the ugly night...thinks one storm has not yet silenced another one has come forth. Anyways she had already risked her life to save her family. Now that it was already at risk why be afraid of the effects...whatever the outcome she would face it now. Tara enters their bedroom..it's dark...MJ sitting on the chair. She walks past him he switches on the lamp and holds her wrist. Tara shocked , "You! what are you doing in my room?"
"Your room?"
"Go away from here, or else I shall tell Baba."
"Go ahead...and what will you tell him? He will ask you a few questions"
"Why are you doing this to me?"
"Why did you go to the dark room?"
She thinks of the time she had been there and the pictures got ruined by putting on the light.
"I went there by mistake...I did not know"
"But I am not here by mistake,I have come here on purpose
"Listen I don't want to spend any time with you in this room. Go away from here."
I hate you and your ways. Don't want to see your face."
She jerks herself only to fall on the bed. He comes to her on the bed. Sits beside her and locks her from behind with his arm around her back, with her facing the bed.
"I too don't want to see your face and I hate you as well, but you will spend the night with me. She is shell shocked...and those memories haunt her again...in this room, only Me, You and Fear."
He strokes her hair to frighten her off. "The fear of a human turning into a beast. Every moment of this night, will turn out to be ages for you."
Strangely his eyes have no evil in them, neither are his eyes on her body. They are looking straight ahead. And that is what I LOVED about the direction. I am sure the director has told Viraf to be careful...say the words but don't mean it...the emotion of the dialogues must NOT reach your eyes...whatever he said is monotonous...I would request that you go and watch the scene again...and understand what I am trying to say...No doubt his words and actions have the perfect effect on Tara...but the thoughts of his actions are not on his mind. I don't know what happens tomorrow and how far will Mrityunjay go with his threat? Does she again manage to escape whilst he allows her to?
An office mate and I discussed MJ's warehouse scene with Tara, she said one thing that struck me, that MJ came across as being shy to touch Tara in that scene. His actions did not match his words. And I found that again today. I am not glorifying the scene, but I say this in order for us to understand the state of mind of the character Mrityunjay. His aim is to frighten her off with no evil intention whatsoever.
A well shot and brilliantly directed scene...👏
Precap: Rudra says she has gone to get red flowers for the pooja. When she is back she would be thirsty but would breathe her last breath.
P.S. Sorry about the length of the post...I just could not stop...
hugs always
