I was one of those viewers who started watching the show for the characters Arjun and Radhika as a pair. It was 11th or 12th June when I started watching this show and when I saw that the show has low TRPs, I knew it would come to an end soon but it would be so soon, I never knew that. Anyways, I'm happy that they dint drag the show and ended it on a good note.
My analysis of the show/characters/actors is as follows:
Promo: The concept of the show as not unique for me as I've seen similar shows where girls want to achieve something before getting married. IMO the promos were a copy of the Fair and Lovely ad and there was no Ex factor about it that could make me watch the show. It was just an ordinary story for me which couldn't get me glued to the show. It was more a family drama kind of a thing for me. Had it been revealed in the promo that it's a show of 4 friends and their hardships in life, it would be more convincing for me to watch the show as a viewer. It dint happen.
Story: I started watching this show since June 11th and ArDhika's story made me take inteerst in knowing their past and their journey. I then started downloading the earlier episodes and found that the show was nothing like the promos that had been shown. It was more like a cocktail of characters, their friendship, their fights and their love life rather than a girl achieving her dreams and then leaving her career for marriage. All the characters were pretty interesting and when the two couples were shown ArDhika on one hand and NeSam on the other hand, it looked like a perfect pairing where one person has had a bad past, one has been cheated in love, one is trying to protect her friend and one is making his friend understand his love.
The turning point of this show was when Nandini entered and the story completely went off track. It seemed like an illogical revenge where one character was a puppet of an evil woman, the other character was blind in love, her friend was just crying and crying and the other character was confused watching the puppet. All just fell from what they were shown before the Lonavala trip and it seemed like a regular revenge drama and marriage show. The CVs tried to make the story interesting by showing revenge drama but it dint click with the viewers who were watching this show as a youth based show. It neither gained nor lost TRPs and remained the same but the story mattered for those who were watching this show for entertainment and to get something new from the regular saas bahu dramas.
Sam and Arjun's story: This plot was I guess the best one of all. Even me being an ArDhika fan cannot deny that Arjun and Sam's story was interesting as Arjun was a mysterious guy and Samaira was an emotionally weak girl. When I watched the episodes, I just loved the bon fire scene where he kept looking at her and she kept dancing and crying her heart out.
However, I wouldn't like it to turn into a love story where Arjun would fall in love with Samaira. It's not because I dint like the pairing or the actors but story wise, it would have been worth to watch how Arjun would reveal himself to Samaira and Samrat. Also a better revenge story would have been more interesting to watch. Like Samrat being an avil man and doing wrong to Arjun's family or something even better than this. I'm giving my own viewpoint as an unbiased viewer. If Arjun was a villain, it would have made the story more interesting for me and Neil being a protector of Samaira.
Ajrun and Radhika's story: This story was not unique but quite interesting for me as a lover of hate-love kinda stories. The characters were completely in contrast and the actors complemented each other. I felt it would be a story of how a man who hates a girl inturn falls for her and becomes her biggest support in future but I even liked the way Arjun was melting towards Radhika and was changing himself as a human being. It was shown that Radhika was similar to Nandini as well and if Arjun had to change himself after the trip and forget his revenge, their story would be more interesting to watch. It would be how their story unfolds, how Radhika starts feeling his love and care for her, her refusal for this relationship and Samaira and Neil helping her out.
I did not like the way their marriage was shown and the speed at which the story was progressing. The revenge marriage was just unncessary for me and they could insetad concentrate on the 4 individuals instead of Nandini. That's when Arjun and Radhika's story started falling out of place but still the actors managed to give us beautiful scenes and their chemisttry kept my love for them intact. However, I would have appreciated to have a logical marriage rather than a HATE marriage.
Neil and Samaira: I just loved the first scene when Neil comes and picks up Samaira in his arms. I just wished that it would be their love story in focus as it would have been more convincing and enjoyable to watch rather than Sam being heart broken and Neil as well waiting for his love to bloom. I just wished the characters would been protrayed in a better way and I could get more romantic scenes from the start of the show which would make me love this couple.
I was never a fan of NeSam as there was a time I felt Niel deserves someone better than Samaira. Sam loved Arjun and so I couldn't see Neil breaking down and crying for his love. It used to make me cry as well. I loved the last scene of NeSam though where they finally got married and were shown to share the same funny moments they did earlier.
Characters:
Arjun: This character was dark from the beginning. The mystery of the character, his dialoguesthat had a hidden meaning, his way of trying to seek revenge and then his changing into a good human being was a treat to watch. I just couldn't relate to him after the Nandini track as he was not only confused but shown to love two girls (one fake one true) at the same time. However, this character made me love him at times and hate him at times and that's the reason I feel for Arjun's character. He was shown as an intense lover who if tested at times would go to any extent to protect his love. This was a lovable factor about his character. I did not like him taking advantage of two girls just for his sister's misery and hence hated him when he used to listen to Nandini.
Radhika: This character was shown to be bold at times and naive at other times. I loved it when Radhika was referred to as Chasni as she used to always talk sweet things and enjoy her life in a humorous way. She used to make fun of Arjun and this was the most cutest part of Radhika that I loved. I found her at times irritating as well when she used to not speak up when Saral used to misbehave with her and Arjun as well. I wanted her to be bold like the way she hit the con man in the earlier episodes but I dint get to see that happening after the Lonavala track. At the end, the character was shown fighting with Nandini which just made me miss my cheerful Radhika whom I feel for in the earlier episodes.
Samaira: The character was shown to be stubborn and determined in the show. I found many interesting facts about Samaira and loved her boldness and independent nature at times. She used to say what she feels was right and also object when she finds anything wrong. She never cared what others feel about her and that's what was a fact I loved about Samaira. Her bonding with Neil and Radhika was a treat to the eye. However, when she was shown confused about love and friendship and kept on playing pranks and taking revenge, I couldn't relate to this character at all. I found that she was being shown as a girl who can't understand who loves her and who doesn't love her which would make her only get hurt in life and I dint want that to happen. I wanted the bold Samaira Khanna who takes decision for herself and not take decisions in a weak mindset.
Neil: The most lovable character of the show. He was shown fun loving, emotional and friendly throughout the show. I loved when he used to tease Sam and Radhika and also give back to Arjun. It would have been fun to watch few action scenes between him and Arjun but it never happened. I couldn't relate to the character when he refused to express his feelings to Sam and kept mum about it. He was shown as a sacrificing person and too good that made it look unreal but nevertheless, he was the best character in the show.
Actors:
Aham: I liked Aham in Mahabharat but did not like his character at all as Karna as Karna was shown negative. I did not know the actor but I did appreciate his acting. He was fab in that show but I can't say the same about MMZ. His character of Arjun had many shades and it is challenge for an actor to play such a character who needs to be evil at times, good at times, emotional at times, comic at times and romantic at times. He was good in the earlier episodes when he was shown as a mysterious man and even when he used to fight with Radhika. However, the emotional scenes at times dint match my expectations as I have seen him in MB and loved him in such scenes. I can only say that he had an awesome chemistry with Monica as Radhika and hence their couple was, is and will always be my most favorite one.
Monica: I never knew this girl before as it's obvious she was a new comer. I liked her in the comic scenes and also when she used to fight with Arjun but sometimes the emotional scenes failed to connect with me. However, I ignored her flaws as she was pretty decent in those scenes and being a new comers, she was much better than the others who were launched in 2015. She needs to improve as well but as Radhika, I can just say that I loved her.
Kashmira: I watched her as Ambar before but I dint like her character as Dhara was my favorite one. I don't think anyone would have done a better job than Kashmira as Samaira Khanna. She made me hate her character at times and love her character at times and that's the beauty of this actor. She was completely into her character and never once did I feel that she is Kashmira and not Samaira. I did find her lacking in comical scenes but I'll ignore it as she was awesome otherwise.
Shravan: This was the first show that I watched him in and I must say that he was the best among all the 4. His comic timing, anger scenes, love, emotional, romantic expressions were all fabulous. As Neil he was perfect.
Shilpa: I love Shilpa as an actor and her character of Ganga was my most favorite one. I hated Nandini a lot and that's where I can say that she did a fab job as a vamp.
Karan: As Saral he was fab. The more I hated him, the better job he had done.
All the other actors who played the roles Dadaji, Piyali, Samrat, Mala, Rad's dad have done a fab job as well. Love Bonzo too.
Overall, I will miss MMZ a lot and I wish all 4 actors come back on my screen as soon as possible. Love them all ⭐️
