Have been a rather silent member of this and many other serials forums. Recently reading everywhere blaming Arjun for going closer to Sam, and ruining his character. I completely disagree. The writers have been brilliant to keep the shades of the characters in the same way they were shown from the beginning.
Arjun is shown as good hearted person, but in his initial episodes, he was shown luring Sam (trying to impress her) and also using him for his benefits(using her in the first Maybelline presentation). Why he was behaving in that way, was made clear with the entry of Nandu and her evil plans. Till that time he was shown as angry young boss, angry to Radhika, and charming to Sam. His goodness was shown, when Radhika got hurt(lonavla trip), and trying to protect her from Saral, and recently saving her mom. So the goodness is shown only in bits and pieces to Radhika. And he is true to his words, that he is a bad guy, because he made the choice of ruining his childhood friend(Sam) for Nandu, even if he knows the whole plan is wrong. His one heart really feels happy to have Radhika beside him, but at the same time, he is determined in his mission equally. He understood that Radhika never felt the same while in the store room, and hence from that time, he has been mellowed in his reactions to her. He keeps taunting so that she would get out of the marriage though at heart (I think so) he is happy when Radhika is nearby.
Radhika has been shown very innocent and sweet, but deterministic from the beginning, especially if she was given moral support. First it was from Dadaji and her father at Rishikesh, and in Mumbai, it was the Dosti of all including Arjun. From the beginning she is shown as very much vulnerable and hesitant, though she is also willing to come out of her shell and be bold (trying to wear western wear for a party but changed her clothes because of Saral). The "shaadi" was indeed her biggest bold step as she herself told, and is now willing to continue with the marriage as any other girl, who realizes Arjun is not a bad guy, but still has not fallen for her husband.
She did not reveal Nandu secret to either Neil or Samrat, fearing the same bad dream of Sam being shattered. Her aim as a "perfect" friend to protect Sam from tears and sadness, and maybe now to protect Arjun too.
Sam was shown as very bold and hot headed person, who doesnt think much of others (including her BFF Neil). She is really heartbroken not for Arjun, but on Radhika whom she trusted more than Arjun (as to which she broke off with him initially). I feel her anger is justified. Why they need to give much screen space to her? I feel NeSam was not at all given importance during Ardhika shaadi, their first day, their rituals etc. and hence, there needs to be an outlet for the heroine (in this case Radhika) to be bashed upon.
I also felt Arjun intervened at the right time while Sam was doing tantrums. He walked in exactly at the time when Sam cursed Radhika of being in pain whenever she would go near Arjun. Again, he couldn't bear Radhika in pain, and he took her out.
Loving the characters and the creative writers. Even though the show is ending, I am happy that they are giving good closure instead of bringing in more twists and turns (I hope so...)
PS: Sorry for the long post. :D
