~OUT OF THE FRYING PAN AND
INTO THE FIRE!!!~
Mala called out for Radhika for the upteempth time,but no one was responding.Where was she?!Call it a a mother's sixth sense,she was very worried for her daughter.More than usual.Something in her heart told her it was just not right.Something was truly amiss.
She picked up her phone to call her,when she noticed Radhika's phone lying on the floor,as if someone had threw it there deliberately.
She was just wondering what to do,when she heard a sound from downstairs.
In seconds she was at the balcony.
That was when she heard it all..
The guy whom she had finally decided was not that bad as she had worried,after his help during her family's crisis,was all the time wearing a mask of civility.
Wrath grew in her heart,along with shame at herself.How could she have been so stupid as to think this guy would take care of her choti eventually?!
If he was taking the advantage of her family crisis,and coercing and blackmailing her into marriage now,what would he do to her later on?!
Tears of rage formed in her eyes,as she saw her little girl cry helplessly infront of the scoundrel!
She had to do something!She had to stop this!
Earlier she had tried to overlook his misbehaviours thinking he was immatured still,or maybe it was because he cared for her choti and was just jealous,but this could not be love or care.
The rage within her grew,as she saw him dragging her little girl by the hand towards a parked taxi.
Quickly she ran to the door,out of breath in her hurry.She had to stop them!NOW!!!
But as she came out of the gate,she saw the door of the taxi close,and it started moving away..
"CHOTI!!!!!SARAL!!!STOP!!!"She called out,but the taxi was out of sight in minutes.
Nervous and perspiring with tears streaming down her eyes,she tried to think what to do..
She had heard of the name of the mandir Saral was taking her to,but she did not a road in this huge Mumbai city!How was she going to-..
SAM!!!
She quickly looked at the phone still held in her hand.Choti must have Sam's number.
Quickly she dialed her number.
It was ringing..Her heart thudded crazily as she waited for Sam to pick up the phone.
No one was picking up the phone..!!!
She thought of the preparation of the sangeet ceremony,and wondered if they were all busy there.
She was trying to think what to do,when she thought of calling some of Choti's other friend's number.
As she opened the contact list,the first name that popped out was Arjun sir.
Arjun!
Quickly Mala dialed his number.The phone was ringing,once..Twice..Thrice..
Life came into her body,when a deep male voice responded.
Weeping uncontrollably Mala told him all she saw and heard,and begged him to save her daughter.She just did not know anyone else who could help her..
Arjun from the other side calmly assured her,he would take care of everything,and soon had kept the phone.And a sweating and crying Mala waited int he house,waiting to hear some news of her little girl.
Arjun was blind with rage,as he kept the phone down.
Something wild roared out within him.How dare the scoundrel do this to her?!!How dare he???
In seconds he was out of his house,and into his car.
His car skidded loudly as he changed gears and sped out into the Mumbai streets.
He had to stop him,no matter what.
She could not marry him!No matter what happened he would not let her marry him!He just would not!!!
SCREECH!!!
His car came to a screeching halt infront of the mandir.His heart racing he ran up the stairs.
He looked here and there looking for a trace of her,his heart hammering hard and fast in his chest,his eyes misty with rage.
His hands tightened into tight fists when he saw them.
There they were sitting by the fire!!!A pandit was wearing the wedding mantras,as the scoundrel smirked with satisfaction.And Radhika..His Radhika stared blankly at the fire as tears drained down her pale face..
Arjun's heart gave a tight choking squeeze as her pain made him burn with fury all over again.
In quick steps he was beside them,and before Saral could understand he had raised him up by the collar,and gave him a tight punch on his jaw.
THUD!
He fell down on some nearby puja utensils when Arjun picked him up again,and placed another tight punch onto his nose.
CRUNCH!!!
There was the sound of bones breaking as blood spurted out of his nose,but still Arjun did not know how to stop,as he punched him low in his stomach.
All the breath seemed to have left the scoundrel's body,and he was about to hit another punch,when a soft frantic hand stopped him.
"SIR!PLEASE STOP!!!"
And Arjun stopped..Breathing heavily,he let go of the guy,not caring as he fell to the ground,when he completely turned to face her.Without thinking any further he cupped her cheeks,and rubbed her tears with his thumbs..
"Look what he has done to you Radhika..!God!What has he done to you!!!"He groaned out in a choked and pain filled voice.
"Are you alright now?Did he do anything else to you?Are you hurt anywhere?Radhika..???"He asked worriedly,as his eyes frantically looked for any mark of force on her saree draped body.
"I'm fine,Sir.."She whispered in a tear clogged voice,as tears continuously streamed down her eyes..
"BUT YOU WON'T BE FINE FOR TOO LONG RADHU!!!JUST SEE WHAT I DO NOW TO YOUR FAMILY!!!I'M-.."
THUD!!!
His words were stopped in mid-sentence by another hard punch on his jaw,as Arjun looked at him with furious eyes.
"DON'T YOU DARE!!!DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO HURT HER AGAIN IN ANYWAY!!!!"Arjun hissed out in between clenched teeth.
"If i do..What can you do Mr. Arjun Mehra..?Who are you to stop me???And how long can you stop me and protect her?In a few days you are getting married,and I can do whatever I wish with her..Do you get it?"Saral taunted with a disgusting snigger.His eyes and voice dripping venom,as Arjun looked at him with fury in his eyes,that increased with his taunts."YOU..HAVE..NO RIGHTS ON RADHU..GOT IT???NO RIGHTS!!!!!"Saral sniggered with satisfaction making Arjun's blood boil with rage.
He sent him a long silencing look,and then suddenly holding a surprised Radhika by her hand pulled her towards the still burning fire in the mandap area.
And before Rahdhika could understand what he was doing,he had taken a handful of sindoor from a container and put it on her parting..
And in the shocked silence that followed he also took the mangalsutra he saw in a pooja thali,and placed it round her neck.
Then with wrath filled eyes he smiled back at an open mouthed bleeding Saral..
"Now try and hurt her Saral..NOW JUST TRY TO HURT HER ONLY ONCE!!!I will make sure you regret to be born at all,the rest of your MISERABLE LIFE!!!"Arjun gritted out,when a combined shocked gasp met them all turn towards the entry of the mandir.
Sam,Radhika's mother,Neil and Nandini,along with the rest of the friends and family stood dumbstruck at the sight that greeted them.
It was Nandini who broke the silence,and tried to hide the smile on her lips as she saw a wedded Radhika,and was glad that Saral had done the right thing.
"What happened over here???Saral you married Radhika like this???BUT WHY???"She said in a mock shocked voice,with the perfect shocked and disappointed look on her face,as she bit her cheeks to keep from smiling out in the open.
And it was Saral who broke her misunderstanding.
"I did not marry Radhika!!!YOUR BROTHER JUST MARRIED HER!!!YOUR BROTHER!!!AAP KI BHAI NE!!!"He screamed out,and his voice echoed all around as another loud gasp resounded in the mandir too,as everyone now looked at Arjun and then at Radhika..
Nandini was completely shocked still now as she stared with blood shot eyes at Radhika..
And Radhika just stared at the ground,not knowing how to react as tears streamed down her eyes endlessly..
She was not sure if she was just saved,or had she just lost everything..Was it the end for her,or the beginning of the end..???What was going to be her future now..?Had she not just fell OUT OF THE FRYING PAN AND INTO THE FIRE???
