Calling Tani a fatso?

Hello everybody,
As a typical girl who is sensitive about her weight, I wonder how the actress playing Tani feels about her character and her of course being called a fatso. I cringe every time Samrat thinks that.
Honestly, I don't think that my ego would be able to handle that if I were an actress. I would be sooo insulted! What are your thoughts?

I haven't seen DAK in a while so I wasn't aware of this.
But I think Desi soaps are very insensitive towards weight, more so than Western shows.

I won't name the show but there is another serial where the male lead often refers to the female leads weight, taking digs at her for being chubby. Personally I think it's in bad taste.

If I was an actress I wouldn't mind one dialogue about but nothing continuous. It's mean spirited.

Samraat also calls Urmi 'chuhiya' meanin female rat which is a derogatory term for a slim lady, I think ...so I guess him calling Tani 'haathi' is just in line with his character that holds no respect for women at all

That's a valid point.
