Finally it was Friday - the longest week of antara's life or so it seemed. antara could not get this day over with fast enough. She managed to get into work just before eight; she wanted to make sure she was there for when the delegation arrived. raghu was coming down the stairs and stopped to see antara walking in, she was wearing a long light green dress with her hair tied in a lose bun she looked so beautiful . As antara walked to her work station rummaging through her bag she looked up to see raghu staring at her, she gave him a nervous smile and hurried to her desk before sitting down. She slowly leaned over her desk to see if raghu was still standing there 'phew, he's gone' she took a deep breath and leaned back only to jump off her seat. raghu was standing to her side looking at her, antara let out a gasp her heart started thumping hard, she quickly put her hand on her chest to calm herself down. 'oh my god...you..you scared me' raghu's eyes almost lit up in amusement 'I seem to have that effect' he smirked 'what are you doing here so early' antara who was still trying to calm her breathing looked to him 'um I...I thought I would come in early as you said the delegation is coming at eight and erm...in case you needed anything' raghu continued to look at her 'ok' he said shrugging his shoulders and walked off. Antara slumped herself into the chair looked up and said 'please give me strength'.

The weekend went quietly antara caught up on her sleep ate as much food as she could and then channeled her remaining energy into painting. She had missed the peaceful place her canvas took her too, into a world where she was free of any thought of any noise everything seemed to stop in its place, this was her time her special time away from everyone even herself.

The following week was hectic antara was rushing around trying to meet every impossible deadline raghu was throwing at her. By mid-week antara was struggling to keep up, her run-ins with raghu seemed to increase and they were not pleasant. antara sat at her desk holding her head in her hands 'what is that monster made of? He is driving me insane' she thought she let out a big sigh, as she looked up Aman was standing there 'now what' she exclaimed Aman gave her a smile trying to pacify her frustration 'Sorry Aman I didn't mean to shout' 'it's ok antara, there is a board meeting in ten minutes, raghu has asked for you to attend' antara forced a smile and nodded. 'Aaargh like I haven't got anything better to do then sit in a bloody meeting' antara growled to herself 'what bloody meeting' a voice came from behind her she quickly turned around to see machmach standing there with a big grin 'Sorry machmach I didn't realise I said that out lout' machmach started laughing. 'I take it you're referring to the board meeting' antara smiled 'come on we can make our way up together'.

antara tried hard to concentrate on what raghu was saying but everything seemed to wash over. Two hours into the meeting and antara started to become agitated, she kept looking at her watch conscious of the work she needed to complete before lunch. 'Am I boring you Miss kaul? Is there somewhere else you would rather be?' raghu said glaring at her antara looked up at him and then at the dozen eyes that were all pinned on her 'umm...no not at all' she said hesitantly her cheeks started to burn up and she could feel the colour change as she looked down embarrassed.

'Ok, before you all go I have some good news, in the past few weeks we have been able to finalise 2 new deals and renew our contract with Mode. In light of this I have decided to hold a cocktail party on Saturday' Everyone looked at raghu with jaw dropping expressions 'A party, for us?' a colleague stuttered out, raghu looked at him 'Yes, the theme will be fusion so East meets West, and another thing the party is for strictly for couples so please ensure you bring a partner or date' everyone started to smile and engrossed in happy chatter. One by one everyone started to exit the boardroom, antara was the last to leave and as she held the door to walk out she heard raghu call out to her, half turning her body back she saw him looking at her with a smirk and instantly her heart started to skip a few beats as she found herself being drawn into him. 'It's ok if you pass, I mean take a rain check' antara looked at him in confusion turning around so she was facing him she shrugged her shoulders 'I don't understand' 'I am talking about the cocktail party, its ok if you don't come after all it is for couples not for people like you'. His tone was purposely insulting. antara continued to glare at him 'how dare he make an assumption about me' she though to herself. antara straightened her posture and said 'even people like me have partners, I will see you at the party Mr raghunath naik' she passed on a fake smile and walked off leaving raghu spewing over what she had just said.

'Hi you're home early today' rukku said 'hmmm' antara responded as she was lost in thought. 'rukku are you going to the cocktail party on Saturday?' 'Of course I am, machmach called me an hour ago to tell me about it'. antara slummed herself on the sofa and let out a groan 'what' rukku asked her 'I don't have a date and I told that monster that I do and I would attend the party...he...he is such a aaargh' antara looked up at rukku almost childlike as if someone had taken her favourite toy away. antara couldn't help but to laugh at her, antara threw rukku a cold look scrunching her little nose up 'not funny' she said stomping off
