Okay, we've had a lot of Riddhima chat going on..since..um..EVER LOL...but yesterday, it all sparked up again.... so here's my turn on trying to investigate Riddhima and get into that head of hers !! It's a long post so sorry about that......I guess you can call it my way of venting before todays episode starts (my nerves are speaking so it'll be longgg LOL)😆
Before I start, I want to say that I do not buy this whole "Riddhima's character is being ruined" business.... I don't side that AT ALL.... She's not being ruined. Riddhima was like this from day one, nothing has been changed or ruined...If anything, she is slowly improving (July 10th episode and the new promo support this claim of mine).
Riddhima loves Armaan....and yes, she wants him in her life. Do we doubt that? No. She cant live without him and she knows that. Then what's the problem? Why is she so lost, why is she so confused, why is she so undecided? Why, even after Armaan proves time and time again that he is THE Mr Right/Mr Perfect, does she still doubt that they can live happily together?
Riddhima loves Armaan....and yes, she wants him in her life. Do we doubt that? No. She cant live without him and she knows that. Then what's the problem? Why is she so lost, why is she so confused, why is she so undecided? Why, even after Armaan proves time and time again that he is THE Mr Right/Mr Perfect, does she still doubt that they can live happily together?
CONFUSION, LACK OF TRUST......Armaan himself said to Riddhima [and it's proved to be true in many peoples lives] that when one finds out a shocking truth (like that they were ADOPTED)....they tend to start doubting the relationships/love around them... Nothing seems certain/reliable anymore.....This realisation made Riddhima even more confused. And anyhow, as Shashank pointed out a couple of months back (when Riddhima was interns monitor) Riddhima has a "childhood problem" of being confused 😜
THE FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN.......As far as we know, Riddhima's never been in a relationship before... Therefore, she doesn't know what she should expect and what will be expected from her. (This could be seen even earlier on..... when Armaan & Ridz were "together", Riddhima either didn't trust him enough or didn't trust herself around him -- the "miniskirt" sequence is proof enough there, how she told him to leave
....and also note that when Armaan holds her aggressively and all, Riddhima is still not sure if she accepts that or not in a relationship) She's not sure if it's possible for 2 people, bought up in such different environments/with such different backgrounds, can actually make a successful life together..... (Anjali's advice to her about this, really did not help!!) Riddhima is SCARED because she's 'daddys little angel' who has always been protected and sheltered in a cotton-candy world, always looked after perfectly by her great father Dr Shashank Gupta, and now for the first time in her life...She's ALONE...She has to make her OWN independant decision....SHE has to DECIDE whether she & Armaan can be together.
We all know Riddhima's never been the kind to take risks..... in fact, she's constantly having a go at Armaan when he does risky stuff...right?😭 So now, when she has no answers/directions/help regarding her love life and she has to make her own decision --- perhaps, take a risk for once (risk being to go into the relationship and fight the hurdles WITH Armaan rather than fight the hurdles of life being without him) -- she's SCARED and I know everyone is always bashing Ridz for being confused.......but think about it-----isn't she PARTLY justified? Doesn't it make SOMEWHAT sense? Can you not understand her a LITTLE BIT atleast????? It's CLEAR when you think about it >>>> the thing she is confused about is what's better >>> [1] Taking the risk of being with Armaan and facing the imtihaan's of 2 people, who have different ways of looking at life, being in the relationship.... OR ... [2] A life without Armaan, which is equal to no life at all😭!
