Lol, I wanted to make a topic about this ever since I started watching dmg2..

Lets see the inspiration for the leads in DMG2

First off is Sid and I can't believe how no one has ever compared him to Sid of Wake up SID! Even the names are the same and ever since I watched the first promo of karan wahi sleeping in his colourful room and getting up with the alarm clock..I was like this is pakka rip off from WUS because both the characters are immature and basically aimless in life...and then in WUS he does get an aim and a goal...and a love..and I know this is what is written for Sid Modi of DMG2 too..although the wording might be different. 😉

Yuvi- Well...I don't need to elaborate on him...coz as I have always maintained..he looks like a rip off from ome classic novel...Rhett Butler and Darcy come to mind....the character always has been given a much more thorough finish than the others...be it in dialogues, scenes or characterization.

Tamzz Well...she obviously is meant to remind me of Riddhima...the hairstyle and the clothes. But I wn't elaborate anymore since I don't want any bashing in this topic NOR do I want to see those snide remarks just bordering on the insulting.

Naina- Well she is most difficult to place and I am not sure but she seems to me to be a bit similar to Nupur of MJHT..with her bubbly persona and cheerfulness and her nautanki-ness. The difference is that she s career-focussed and runs miles away from marriage while Nupur wants to marry right now.

JP- Well..he is like Atul in the beginning of DMG1...only he is much more sarcastic and sometimes rude.

Sid - yep, totally Sid of Wake up. His promos were just like.

Naina like Nupur? hmm I liked Nupur before she got all 'this is my dream and this is how life shall be and by god, it shall be so' - nah, I like Naina WAAAAAAYYYYY better.

Yuvi - well quintessential cool dude, wot? Taciturn, manly, angry young man with mission. doesnt' remind me of anyone though

Tamanna - find her a little boring, frankly, and not nice enough. She's too scowl-ly and then coy. she's got nice eyes though.

Sorry but is that bashing? I hope not, don't mean to offend anyone or be nasty - just my impressions.

sid --i would place him as hrithik roshan ---the first half of lakshya types.. living life on his own terms, irrespopnsibe and with no aim in life.

yuvi-mannerism yes like darcy and rhett butler to an extent..the arrogant types.with a no nonsense attitude...its only revenge for him--the younger version of angry young man.

naina--second name of trouble !! nupur is the chirpy one , naina is more inquisitive . she can be placed as the mother-in-law type of your neighbour who is more interested in what's cooking in the next house while her own kitchen is on fire.

tamanna--confused one. like the youngest bahu in baa,bahu,baby..meenakshi-unsure of herself and crying at the shortest of notice !!

jp--remember old actor -rajendernath? who was always the side actor to the hero and was used for moral support, advice and humour.well jp fills the gap here.

Sid - I think he is the overgrown pampered brat of the new gang. He is not aware of the difficulties faced by people as he has always been protected by his family. He expects life to be all milk and roses. The term 'wake Up Sid' suits him best !

Yuvi - Do I need to say anything about him ??A rip off from a novel!! Darcy-ish !! Perfect !

Tammana - Tamzie is ADORABLE ! Soft spoken and cultured, Tamzie has the qualities a man looks for in his wife and a saas looks for in her bahu !

Naina - Naina, Naina, Naina....My fav of the DMG2 charecters. Reminds me of Muskaan. Bubbly, energetic and lively. A live bomb. I think she LOVES danger.....This girl has more danger situations following her than guys !! LOL !!

JP - No comments ! I simply love this guy !

Yeah I know...even for me Naina is one of my fav characters...sometimes I can't choose b/w her and Yuvi!

I love her character bcoz its so fun and spontaneous and lively and and even though you cannot exactly define her character outright...you cannot help but like it

And another part is Neha Jhulka! SHE has converted a random everyday character into a very likable one!

Sid - A twin of Sid from 'Wake up sid'. Rich, bratty, child-like mischievous, super cute , super dude, confused , callous , golden -hearted .

Yuvi - Typical hero from complicated love stories. Darcy, Rhett Butler rolled inton one. And his swaggering style, strong one-liners and intense silence also remind you a lot of Ranveer (Saif) in the film RACE.

Naina - She is a reflection of Geet from JAB WE MET for me. Gregarious, full of life , tangy and sweet , infectiously happy with her heart on her sleeve. Even Alicia Silverstone in CLUELESS is a good similarity.

Tammz - Tammz is my darling Jane Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. Beautiful, fragile, responsible, trusting , adorable and all the things that you attach with the conventional definition of an ideal woman.

JP - Johnny Walker , Jagdeep, Rajendranath.... comical yes , but with a window to the wisdom of life.

😲 Nitz, you freak me out sometimes. As I was reading Harshu's main, as soon as I saw Naina's name Geet rolled into my mind. She's definately as bubbly and inquisitive as her. Perfect match...or rip off.

Yuvi - Don't you think he has a lil bit of Edward Cullen in him? Or even Jacob? 😳

Sid - Definately Sid from Wake Up Sid. But I do also see a streak of Sameer (Salman Khan) from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in him.

Harshu - Someone did make a VM on Sid to the track Wake Up Sid right at the beginning. I can't remember who though, curse my goldfish disease. But I do remember that it was good.

Tamz - Besides a lil bit of the obvious Ridz, she's definately a modern verision of the Austen woman. Head strong, family orientated and sometimes, super naive.

JP - Mr Bean (the one who talks)! He's quite intelligent you know, in his own kind of way!
