All the dialogues of ONU, they used to just pinch in my heart.
Starting from, I LOVE YOU BUT I M NOT IN LOVE WITH YOU, to MERI TAANI, to MERI HAR SAANS HAR AAS HAR JASBAAT, each of dem were so different but with the same feeling and meaning, were just music to my ears.
ONU's effortless comedy with KAMINI AUNTY scenes or with ROBINDO scenes were cherry on the top. He knew nothing, he dint have anything or nor did he had ever asked for anything, but yet every time unknowingly, selflessly and passionately he kept sacrificing for the people he loved, his lady love, his siblings, his parents. Just a pure heart stealer.
ONU in pain, was painful for the fans also, but best phase of the show. His jealousy, insecurity, anger that too when a guy madly in love does not know the reason behind these emotions were just excellently portrayed by HARSHAD. The first heartbreak when the girl leaves him on the engagement day, was a very heart pinching one, but ONU had supressed the pain and frustation in his heart, he used to shed lonely tears , used to have smiling faces in front of the world and especially the girl whom he cannot see in pain. Ohh god the way HARSHAD acted during that track was just one example that why he is the heartthrob of million girls. The best acting as ONU came out when he had started to realize his love for taani and the jealousy and insecurity, both the emotions were brilliantly expressed by the actor. The scene where he blasts at the girl after failing to hide his pain, the painful voice, the teary eyes, the crashed emotions everything was so beautifully played by him that instead of piyuing and sympathasizing TAANI, 90% of the audience chose to cry and feel bad for ONU. I was devastated to see ONU in that condition. HARSHAD's one of the best scenes and best performance. Hats off to him.ONU was once again a lover boy, but yet so different form PREM, everything, the age, the personality, the xfactor, the characterisation, the morals, the thoughts, the philosophies, everuthing were poles apart in between these two different characters, and then also HARSHAD did it so convincingly that again his fans were confused to choose their favourite character from PREM and ONU. He was just amazing.
Later the very unfortunate ending of TERE LIYE, even aftr being the most popular show on the channel and the respective slot, had broken down the fans including me. APRIL 2011, i was appearing my ALEVEL mock exams, and nothing could be more disastrous than that in my whole life. After one month i had to appear for my finals, the whole future depended on that results but i was so much lost and occupied by ONU and the show that i hardly concentrated on my studies. It was a tough phase for all the fans, and i again hated myslef to have fall for another character like crazy, i was so badly attached to ONU that after the show ended, i never looked back to that particular channel again.
Later i became busy in my exams and thought not to be sad anymore about ONU, some good HARSHAD's segments were a relief after that. His birthday segment in SBS was a pur entertainment and a source of smile for all his fans, the trio HARSHAD, APK and MUZAMMIL were having a blast, and it was amazing to get them in a segment after the show's end. HARSHAD's performance in FEMINA MISS INDIA 2011 , was also a very good news for me, he was considered to be one of the tv superstars who performed on the stage, and he made his fans proud with his amazing performance. Was happy to see him tributing SALMAN KHAN his favouite actor. Along with the performance, the introductory segment of the small town contestants in the show was also a very mesmerizing one. Haii the tees mar khan background, and him walking with that style and his hair flying, that view was so peaceful for me. All the sadness and grief had suddenly vanished to see the KING back onscreen.
His tributing to SRK in ETKLKBK, was again a treat for his fans. He made sure that we get chances to smile again, and awesome performance. Loved him to the core and was waiting eagerly for his comeback.
The wait was over as soon as the news of his comeback as MOHAN GALA was out. As soon as i read the news in India Forums, i decided not to wait for anymore exams, nor graduation, and neither any admissions, and i immediately joined the website aftr few days the show had started airing.
Again as usual, was so happy to get him back and this time in a very different look and avatar than the previous roles.
I never liked the name MOHAN and nor the surname GALA, but HARSHAD played the character so well that i can't even express now that how much i loved him playing MOHAN.
According to me MOHAN had the best wardrobe and was the most realistic character played by HARSHAD till date. From a geek to a very handsome and young guy, it was prfectly done by him.
MOHAN's attitude, his stubborness, his philosophies, his dialogues, everything was so classic. I can still die to see him wearing the tees he used to wear as MOHAN, the writings were such a treat for MOHAN's bawriis, my favourite one would be' I DO NOT KNOW FASHION COS I M FASHION', haii hw adorable he looked in that tee.
MOHAN's style was again a great visual for his fans, his style of holding the cigarette in his mouth or the style of distributing the cards in gambling, everything was so effortless and dreamy. How much i loved him as MOHAN. His one liners, from ' CUT THE MELODRAMA' to ' EITHER MY WAY OR HIGHWAY' or 'MANA KE MAIN GUJRATI HOON, PAR ISKA MATLAB YE NAHI KEY CHANDAN SE APNI MATHEY PAR GUJRATI LIKHDOON', were amongst the memorable dialogues of HARSHAD.
Overall MOHAN was a complete package, he had qualities, he had flaws, he had strength, he had weakness, he never believed in love but yet he had fallen in love and did every possible thing to prove it. Though the show was short lived but still his fans and general viewers remember MOHAN, he had a very convncing effect on people's heart tha too within a very short span of time. And all thanks to HARSHAD for yet again proving that why he is amongst the top most actors in the industry.
But after DHARAMPATNI ended, and his fans were not even out of the sadness and grief of losing MOHAN, within a span of 9 days his comeback in the show SAUBHGYABHATI BHAVA was out. It was such a thrill, i must say. I logged in to IF, and the headline was flashing that HARSHAD CHOPRA RETURNS WITH, and i was thinking that GOD couldn't have blessed me anything more than this at that moment. I was in my native country, had gone there to visit my most favourite cousins wedding, the whole house had more than 50 people, all crowdy, noisy, selecting jewelleries, eating food, dancing , having a laugh riot, and all my relatives were after me to join them, but my whole excitement for the wedding was vanished, as i did not know how to express the happiness, the thrill, uff that day was by far the most memorable day of this year.
11th Feb 2012, was just one more memorable day for all his fans.
And since then there was no looking back for his fans including me, the wait for his entry in the show was indeed not a short one, but it got all over in a blink as i and all his fans were so sure and damn confident that he is gonna enter the show. I mad up so many things in my mind about his new character, had long discussions with fellow HCians about his new role, and we even named his new character with so many different names, but once we had got the promo shoot segment, it was a happy, memorable and indeed a very proud moment for his fans. I felt so happy and proud of myslef to be his fan because inspite of immense dissupport and criticism about himand us, we sticked to tha show for him, we did not had any proof or any hint about him being the new entry but still we waited and were there with the show unless we got the confirmed news, and later when our wait and dedication for him was rewarded by his very grand and dashing entry, there was no place left in the heart for any sort of harsh memories. The entry in the show as RAGHAV was grand and huge, breathtaking, he kept running after the bus and our my heartbeat kept fluctuating that too in variable acceleratin. His each and every body features were zoomed and emphasized and my friend RAMU posting the captions and all of us goin ga ga and hailing for the KING's return. His fist and the the metal piece around it just became as popular as him overnight among his fanclub. The moment he bit the apple onscreen, immediately all others who were watching him behind the screen turned red , it was so dreamy that rewatching the shot more than million times still has the same effect on me as it had when i watched it for the first time.
Another thing to mention here is the background of RAGHAV, it is a cult and classic tune for his fans and just adds up as music to my ears. First time onscreen actually he was having a hardcore action scene with goons, and the wish to see HARSHAD doing dhishoom dhishoom onscreen was also fulfilled.
The journey of RAGHAV and his fans have just started, and within two weeks, among his old fans HARSHAD has grabbed an immense number of new fans with his amazing portrayal of RAGHAV. His role is said to be the most toughest role of his career and he is doing an excellent job in the show. Only seeing him in the precap of the show does wonders for the show's fans instead a whole episode without RAGAHAV.
Now at present i am really happy and thankful to see him as RAGHAV, and expecting a lot from this role.
So overall all the four characters played by HARSHAD was equally different, convincing and popular. If he had played a prince charming sacrificial and superior lover, the he has also played a confused, guilty and unknowingly selfless in love. If he has played the dashing and stylish brat who is selfish at times and lead the life at his own values then he is also playing the sober , mysterious man who is drowned in solitude and pain but yet is the most strongest and the most dignified personality among the general people of the society.
HARSHAD CHOPDA not only gave historical characters to indian tv but he has also given historical pairings onscreen, All his shows till date are still mentioned for his chemistry with all his coactresses. He is probably one of the few actors who has immense fan following for each of his particular pairing.
Each time he just manages to have a different level of intensity and a different vive of chemistry with each of his different coactresses.
The most proud moment as his fan was when he was awarded the TELLY AWARDS for the best actor of 2010. He got his much deserved appreciation. A dream for him and his fans came true.
He himself is a very shy, reserved and jolly person in reality but inspite of this in all his roles onscreen he never made us realize dat it was the character we were watching and not someone in real. His acting and portrayal is so convincing and effective that people believe his fictional characters to exist in real.
May god bless him and his hardowrk. May he keep getting god roles and keep entertaining his fans. I will always be proud and happy to be his fan and will continue to be one in my lifetime. With each passing day my love, respect and dedication for him is increasing.
