Hey guys..I love this show..it's awesome! I love Viraj and Jhanvi pair <3
I was thinking about his character..it shows a bad and tortured past. I'm analyzing his character from a pyschiatric point of view..and what might have happened..
1.He is obsessed with cleanliness and order and discipline. It shows he was controlled and constantly cruelly punished in childhood. That's why he's so obsessed about things in particular.
By doing this he is fulfilling or making someone happy..and gain acceptance from whoever punished him.
2.He punishes cruelly..it means he was punished cruelly during his early years or he saw someone being punished cruelly in his early years..and when things happen that aren't 'right' or remind him of whoever it was,he starts punishing them only he isn't punishing them..he is punishing the source.
3.He is obsessed with thoughts of cheating..and relationships need discipline. It shows that his parents didn't have a loving relationship and someone cheated on the other and as a result he was affected with insecurities for life.
4.Also,I noticed he likes it when people fear him.It must have been someone in his family who looked satisfied after beating him up and he lived in constant fear or he saw someone living in constant fear and he thinks it's the only way people love you and will not leave you..
5.Viraj doesn't want anybody to leave him..not even the little statues in his house. That is why he is obsessed with Jhanvi. He wants love from her..and the only way he thinks of getting it is by inducing fear in her..he is looking for acceptance which he didn't get as a child..I think he has seen brutal things in his childhood, things way worse than things he does to Jhanvi and ultimately his parent's left him or ran away or something..or someone close to him ran away or something..
It's all connected..He doesn't trust anybody..he' s full of insecurities and by punishing Jhanvi or anybody he thinks he is getting acceptance from the person whose love he sought..generally,these traumas are hard to recover from and now it has become his belief system..to torture and punish to gain love...He doesn't drink or smoke,no bad habits in that way..because he was bought up in a very strict unloving background with strict definitions of right or wrong.😲
By punishing people,he thinks he will punish that person or will gain acceptance from somebody.
I'm not saying he is good or bad,I'm not saying anything..I'm just trying to think of the reasons..
And I'm definitely not defending him.
I'm also not saying Jhanvi should tolerate this behaviour or be with him or even think of understanding him..I feel for her, living in constant fear of cruel punishments any moment..😭😭😭😭
But I also don't want another 'male' lead..because women in real life aren't rescued by hot, goody two shoed men, appearing everytime she is punished in a heroic way . And it would indeed turn into a cliche'd storyline. This is the story of Jhanvi and how she is trapped in domestic violence.
Personally,I would love to see how Viraj is being treated and if at all things can change for him.I don't expect Jhanvi to stick to him during the whole process after what he did to her.
What do you guys think?

I get an easy one-lined conclusion off Viraj's past from entire rigmarole of Viraj's complex behaviour.

Viraj's mother killed his father and eloped with a servant and might have given him some or other form of torture (physical, mental or emotional) making him the way he is

and I have reasons for every word of my above statement.

1. Viraj doesn't like being with people, he doesn't have friends, girlfriend, casual friends, not even neighbours, his house is in a desolate area. This is because he doesn't trust people. He doesn't even trust Jahnvi with anything and the only time we found him sacred was when he had an accident and he was under constant fear that Jahnvi might harm him.

2. He doesn't like being weak, or atleast people knowing that he is weak, though he really needed hospitality and care, he didn't want Jahnvi to tend him and think his health is vunerable and she can kill him and flee.

3. He hates women. Its was clearly evident many times that he had an impression that women always ditch men who love them. And since a mother is the first impression of the female gender on her son its obvious he might have got this thinking because of his mother.

4. He is specifically allergic to male house-help, fearing Jahnvi might get involved with him. Another instance proving my point.

5. He spoke a line in initial episodes about marital conflicts of couples affecting the mental state of their children.

6. He doesn't like losing anything or anyone, but since Jahnvi is the only living thing he is in love with, (and Hitler too, whom he has chained outside the door so that he can't escape), his household articles have become his objects of affection and he doesn't want anything damaged, hence the extreme level of discipline.

7. Last but not the least, the only reason he raped Jahnvi was clearly to show that he was manly enough to satisfy her and she shouldn't have gone to another man to get physical happiness. Another reason why an extra-marital affair was the reason of his complex psyche.

Guys, these are just my points I noted and drew a conclusion on basis of that, the real story might be different

I agree with you completely! I agree it was due to his mother, either she was cruelly and brutally punished by his father or she was cruel to him and had an affair with with the servant behind his father's back and I'm pretty sure his father had a problem too...You know I also think Jhanvi is weak but she she is also strong, she just doesn't realise it. I don't think she will back out when she discovers Viraj's past and will do anything to get him cured.

Yeah,it's deifinitely due to his parents and you are right once Jhanvi finds out the reason behind his mental state she will support him.
