her father is the ruler, he has to do things to maintain law and order in society, family/person are not above the law.

His problem he only trusts and listens to his senapati. His senapati looks more like the ruler and he his obedient king. This is not a good quality of a king. His wife/Tara's mom told he never gave her the chance to say her side of the story before punishing her and we also saw he fixed Tara's shadi with senapati after listening to senapati's story. If this is how he rules his kingdom depending on only senapati very very bad king he is.
