Janak should have got angry at Lord Ram

The condition for marriage was to string the bow. But Lord Ram broke it. Why was Janak so happy over this? He should have been sad and angry.

Akhi, I have the same question. And it should not be only Janak. It should be Sita. She is the one who is so attached to that dhanush. She should be really mad at Ram too. Ram did not have to break it. He could have been more careful with Pinak.

ram didnt break it purposefully. he didnt mean to break that.

and if the dhanush is broken by ram it meant to portray that ram is the perfect choice for sita.
janak's condition was that the man to marry sita should be able to lift here.
since ram broke the dhanush, it proved that ram was exceeding their expectations. it meant that ram was better than what they expected.

and y should sita be angry for a mere dhanush. she is goddess lakshmi herself. she's beyond worldy pleasures. she would surely not get angry on her mate just for the sake of a dhanush no matter how much she loved it.

It says in the Ramayan that the bow broke because Ram was so strong and the bow could not take his strength. Janak was not angry at Ram because 1) he fulfilled his vow when no one else could, 2) he also lifted the Vishnu dhanush from Parashuram (thereby hinting that he was Vishnu incarnate) 3) without Shivji's blessings, the bow could not have broken anyway, so ultimately both Janak and Sita knew that only someone who is equal to Lord Shiva could have strung and broken the bow, so where is the justification of getting angry? It was a happy moment for everyone, because the purpose of Shiv dhanush being in Mithila was fulfilled.

Suppose you have a priceless painting. You asked somebody to put a frame around it and he destroys the painting. Just imagine how angry you would be. That bow was really priceless as it was Lord Shiva's bow and indeed unique. Janak and his family's sentiments must have been with the bow. Janak asked Lord Ram to string it and Lord Ram broke it. He destroyed such a priceless thing. No concern for other people's sentiments. No concern for other people's belongings. So bad. 😛😉
