Maybe I'm making an issue out of nothing. And I know that DKDM keeps driving home the point about Shiva & Shakti being alike and equal in all aspects, and one's existence being incomplete without the other (Rishi Bhringi being the most recent example). And I know this sounds to be a silly question, but why does DKDM's Parvati keep addressing Mahadev as "swami", whereas he calls her "Parvati"? It irks and cringes me every time I see it. Does DKDM's Parvati seriously consider herself to be inferior to Mahadev in any aspect? Even if she called Mahadev as "prabhu", I wouldn't complain at all. But making Parvati call Mahadev as "swami" makes it seem as if she is subservient to him in some aspect.

I read somewhere that the Manusmriti point blank forbids all married women from addressing their husbands by their names. But since when did the rules of the Manusmriti start applying to Adishakti herself (or even the tridevis, for that matter)? This is only my opinion, but in DKDM, Parvati's character strength appears prominently only when she is in Kali or Durga form. For instance, I don't know why Parvati sheds tears so frequently when she is present as just Parvati. Why did the CVs show her apologizing to Mahadev after killing Mahishasur? That was the limit IMO. Also, when it was Shiva & Parvati who themselves decided that Ganesh & Kartikeya should go to gurukul, so why should SHE cry so much when they are leaving? You might as well keep them at home then. And what is with Adishakti actually going to sleep and having dreams of Ganesha? Does Jaganmata actually ever go to sleep?? (Watching that scene actually reminded me of a scene in BRC's MB when Balaram asks Krishna as to why he is not sleeping, and Krishna replies that even when it looks like he's sleeping, he's still wide awake).

Maybe I'm making an issue out of nothing, and maybe I'm sounding too harsh, I don't know...but I just wish DKDM could actually portray Parvati's character (as Parvati) to be as consistently strong in personality as Mahadev. I know that Parvati (as Parvati) did display some character strength when Durgasur was about to attack Kailash, but the fact that Durgasur's character itself was also butchered by the CVs is a different matter altogether.
