Durga puja zoro shoro se chal raha hai... i just reached home aftr seeing some durga idols...😊

Me Gujju, will answer it😃 Jayshree some of this is alreay explained in " Happy Navaratri " thread, read it again😆

The Garbh-deep, or Garaba is an earthen pot with holes in it. The diya inside represents the light, Devi Adhya Shakti, which lights the Universe represented by the pot.

Garaba is sung in praise of Adhya Shakti, who has ttaken various forms to help Devas, Humans, had killes Asuras. It is believed that Ma Adhya Shakti too comes to play Garaba along with her devotees. It's a dance in circle involving various steps or at times just one step. Garabi is one where only men play around Ma's pic or idol.

There are many storeis about Devi coming to play one of them is about Pavagadh Shaktipeetha.

Once in Navratri, Ma Kali too started coming with other ladies undre Pavagadh. The King saw her, fell for her, one day he caught her hand. Ma kali got angry, she told him to leave her hand but the king didn't. She cursed him that he'll loose his kingdom. All the while he was not aware of her true identity because she used to look like othe women.

She was so angry that she went to the temple on the hill & said I don't want to be here, started going in the Earth. When her 70% body had already gone ubder the Earth, the priest of the temple prayed to her requesting her please don't go, she heard his request & satyed there in that form only. Only her 30% body including her face is seen today.

I had gone to see one of the idol today, here Devi comes for 10 days. One kid was asking her mother pointing at Mahishasur who is he? Her mother answered Ma kill this Asura, She asked & he died? The other kid who was hearing this convo started jumping hey that Rakshasa died. 😆
