I think school is getting to my sisters head, but this is what she wants me to post, so written by Cham posted by Sakura a short update for RTL
Before you read this let me tell you, it's sort of a background update, you should pick some hints from this and yes I know it is a short one. It should be the second part of the first chapter in true sense. After this part the story will move on a bit so it was needed to be updated. Read and enjoy, it's an incident, a conversation between two royals who's currently fighting for a throne.

A soul-less night part one
"What do you seek by coming here princess?" A cold voice answered my tumbling footsteps and the memories of past few months rushed passed the surface of my mind.
"You should have informed us about her condition Maharaj ji"
"Princess Manyata is not fit to rule"
"You should reconsider your decision"
"I know him, nana sahib, I've known him before"
"Listen to your heart Di before it becomes a stone"
Bum!
The sound of wood on wood startled me, it was Nandini, shutting the window fighting hard against the wild wind.
"The wind is harsh" She said looking at me apologetically, "Looks like a storm is coming"
"It is" I said still lost in my thoughts, "A storm is indeed coming, and it'll change our lives forever"
"Are you nervous?" Nandini asked kneeling beside me as I sat on the cold stone floor, there were only few more hours left until the Mahasaba would arrive. "You don't have to do this" She added,
"I do" I confirmed her, "I can't let him take Nana sahib's throne, can I?"
Nandini said nothing, yet I know what she was thinking, it would have been his if I wasn't here, and he wasn't easily letting it go. After a moment NAndini smiled at me.
"He's not a bad person"
"Because of him Nana sahib is in hospital fighting for his life, and the rest I don't care, he and his fiance both can go to hell"
"That's not the way a princess should speak"
I looked up, it was Vrunda Massi accompanied by Meera, she was ready to visit Nana sahib as I could guess taking in her appearance.
I sighed not arguing anymore as it would lead us nowhere. For the thousandth time I wondered what would happen if I was here before except enjoying my life in Paris I should have been here, I Should have been with Nana sahib helping him as his heir.
All this had been kept away from me until a month ago; all this had been unknown to me. This was the reason that worried Nana sahib so much; the Mahasaba had started questioning my parentage.
Closing my eyes I wondered back to the scene that was etched in to my memory like some craving in a stone.
"Why don't you say in short, that she's an illegitimate child of my father?" Mini asked in a cold tone, "Strange I thought you need to be…"
"There's no need to question anyone's parentage" Uday said calmly, "That's not the whole point"
It had been the whole point after that moment.
"The truth" I said slowly gazing in to the figure lost in darkness before me. "Why is it that, I feel I know you and you don't know me?" The doubts in my mind were slowly pouring out "Why do you hate me so much?" I was surprised at how strong my voice sounded and waited breathlessly for an answer.
He took a few steps forward and placed that glass in his hand on the polished top of the table between us and looked in to my eyes, his eyes were dark with a brownish tint, they looked like closed doors leading to a warm heart, if one enters to which the time will stop.
This was the same man because of who my nana sahib was so stressed, because of who my people are in danger he is the one against my coronation, my enemy yet my only answer.
"Because loving you will gain me nothing, not to mention stealing everything" He said after a moment. "There's nothing for you to worry about, prove them that you're better than me, fight me princess and defeat me"
"I.." I paused, what was the matter in fighting him anyways?
"I want peace" I said after a moment. "So do I" He agreed. "Then get out of my way" He added after a moment,
"I don't want to fight you,"
"No we're talking" He said the corners of his mouth slightly upturned. "So you're afraid of fighting me, then why are you here now princess Manyata…aren't you afraid of me now?"
"I.." there was nothing more to talk, I couldn't argue with this narrow mind, so I turned to leave,
"You came seeking the truth, did you find it?' He asked as I took a step back, "What was the truth you found out doll?"
With a soft movement he caught my wrist and pulled me back, my breath tangled somewhere in my throat,
"It was you," I said in a whisper as he pushed me to the wall his warm breath burning my face. "You call me Doll"
"I used to call you Doll once upon a time" He said a finger running down my neck, "Once upon a time" He repeated to himself,
The words in my mind were locked somewhere as I watched him closing his eyes, there was an odd moment like it wasn't my enemy holding me but someone so near to my soul and realizing this I couldn't breathe anymore.
"what happened?" I whispered slowly, "What did I do?'
"You did nothing" He replied in a calm tone, "It just happened"
"What?"
"Forget it princess, it's really none of your business" He said finally letting me go, "And your nana sahib will be after my blood if I told you this"
"He won't be after anyone's blood" I said slowly, "He's in hospital"
For a moment he looked paler than me, almost a dying man, "What?'
"Yes, he had a stroke" those words sounded strange. "and he said you owe both of us the truth"
He kept looking at me for a moment and said calmly, "Go"
"what?"
"Go and tell your nana sahib, that I wasn't fighting for myself but for his heir,"
"You mean me?"
"Do what you've been told" He snapped, I took another step towards the door, "And, Manyata" He called out, "Tell him my son has nothing to do with Mini"
