A Royal Excuse
Prologue
Yuvraaj Udayveer Singh. The name alone was enough to stir raging hormones through nationwide female population. Rich, spoilt and devilishly handsome- he was everything a Casanova could be. But very few were aware of the reality behind the arrogant, self-obsessed attitude he projected.
Broken was rather a soft word to describe the persistent state looming over his heart since the fateful day his sole support, the closest, dearest person to a child's heart, his Mother was snatched from him for eternity. A loving Mother and a caring wife, Queen Padmini Devi was the kindest soul the Jaigarh kingdom had ever known of. Being a victim of the dirty politics of the King of Devgarh, Jaigarh's supposed other half, was not a fate she deserved. Four lethal bullets through her heart was not an end she deserved. Leading a dark, lonely life devoid of a Mother's presence was certainly not a past Yuvraaj Udayveer Singh deserved.
Having resolved to wipe out the very existence of the Devgarh kingdom, he could not rest in peace until he got even with his Mother's murderer. And there was no better way to go about doing so than setting his target upon the kingdom's softest spot, its heir- Princess Manyata. His childhood friendship long buried, he swore to make her life a living hell.
That was, until he had set his eyes upon her.
Being in possession of a heart of gold, Princess Manyata Kumari Chauhan was never quite a favourite of her Dad's shrewd mind. Kind, carefree and peace-loving, she always heeded to her help-seekers with a passion. Having spent her teen hood abroad, her childhood best friend, Udayveer who was inexplicably distanced from her, was now a distant memory. She had quietly complied when her father had ordered her to loathe the Jaigarh kingdom, since her very childhood. And she had every intention of keeping it up, for the sake of loyalty to her kingdom.
Will her grudge be an excuse enough to stop herself from falling for his charm?
Will his past be an excuse enough to stop the unnamed feelings threatening to replace his 'so assumed' undeterred resolve?
Will revenge and hatred be excuses enough to dismiss the weird feelings gradually but steadily developing in their hearts ? When passion gets undeniable, will she be ready to accept her feelings, which would be nothing less than a forbidden love?
Sooo, how was it?
Good? 😊
Poor?
Hideous? 😭
Before getting started on an idea that popped out of nowhere, I really wanted to know if its worth a try? And let me warn you, I do not have a record of continuing long works ( I've written and discarded like three stories so far). So, I'd really have to be thrilled to think of continuing this.
If it gets around 35 likes, I'd be convinced that this plot is not a waste of time and would gladly give it a try.
Thank you! :)
