Something tells me you guys are gonna really like this update. 😉 I'll let you read and decide but oh yeah first let me just give you guys a heads-up. The only Meera-RV in this chapter is in the beginning and that too a short flashback. I wanted to add their after-five-years meeting in this chapter but the ManVeer scene ended up getting very looong and I'm exhausted so it's saved for the next chapter! 😉 Alright, hope you enjoy this! 😃

Chapter 20
Meera breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank God the presentation went well!" She said.
"See I told you so," Uday told her.
"Thanks Uday, it's only because of you that this useless Ranvijay showed up on time," Meera rolled her eyes.
"AND it's only because of me that we're all acing this thing. Admit it Meera, I was amazing up there," Ranvijay boasted.
"Haha, yeah right," Meera let out a big yawn.
"What, you're sleepy?" Uday asked.
"Is someone keeping you up these days...sorry nights," Ranvijay asked.
"Shutup...And no I'm just very very veryy hungry!"
"Makes more sense...If I can't woo you than who can?" Ranvijay asked.
"Shut it."
Twenty Minutes Later...
Ranvijay and Udayveer watched in amazement as Meera stuffed her food down like she was eating after a month. Ranvijay's mouth was open as he stared at her eating.
Meera stuffed another paneer pakora in her mouth, chewed it and then finally looked up at the two of them in confusion. She quickly finished eating it.
"What?" She asked completely clueless.
"Tum log kyun nahi kha rahe?" Meera asked confused.
"Hmm? Nahin, actually woh tumhe dekh kar humara peht bhar gaya," Uday admitted and Meera bursted out into laughter.
"Oh man. Okay I get it now, you've probably never seen a girl eat so much considering the fake plastic ones you go on dates with. But see I'm not like them, in fact I couldn't care less what you guys are thinking right now!" Meera said and then reached over and started eating from Uday's plate since he obviously didn't look hungry.
"Haan, woh toh dikh raha hai," Ranvijay said and Meera looked up from her food and narrowed her eyes at him.
"Okay look, I did soo much hard work on this project considering the fact that you didn't do anything, so obviously I'm gonna be super hungry! Plus Thank God you guys took me to an Indian restaurant today. Haven't ate Indian in ages," Meera said and then stuffed some pani puri in her mouth.
Uday chuckled, finding Meera's behaviour cute while Ranvijay continued to stare at her like he could never understand her.
Just then Uday's phone rang and he excused himself from the table. Now it was just Meera and Ranvijay, Meera continuing to eat while Ranvijay couldn't take his eyes off her.
She ate the last bit and then started drinking her favourite Mango shake.
"Don't worry, I'm almost done," Meera reassured him.
Ranvijay just raised his eyebrows at her as she continued slurping it down.
"That's not fair Meera, you can eat so much and still look so fit," Ranvijay whined.
"Be quiet," Meera told him.
"But like really where does all the food go? Hmm let's see..." Ranvijay looked at her from up to down.
"Obviously all the fat just goes to your boobs," Ranvijay stated thoughtfully after a while.
Meera started to choke on the milkshake and quickly coughed it out. She then proceeded to act like Ranvijay didn't exist.
"Ranvijay I don't know you."
"Meera why are you getting so offended. I mean it's a compliment-"
"UDAY!!!" Meera shouted for help.

Back to the Present
"Uday man, thoda piyo na!" Meera said as Uday downed another glass.
"And listen, you told me everything but you still didn't tell me the name of that person who Manyata was with on your date night," Meera whined.
"Meera woh actually-" Uday started to say a bit worriedly but he heard someone clear their throat.
The night club was dark but Uday could still see the glaring look in Manyata's eyes, telling him to shut up and he wondered what she was doing here.
"Acha toh tum dono yahan ho. Dinner karne ke liye tum dono ko yeh night club hi mila," Manyata rolled her eyes.
"Wow Princess. In the end, tumse raha nahi gaya na, chali aye yahan bhi apna hukum chilane."
"Uday will you shutup? Aur challo mujhe tumse kuch zaroori baat karni hai. Akele mein!" Manyata said grabbing Uday's arm.
Uday raised his eyebrows at Manyata thinking what was going on in her head now.
"Manyata, what are you doing? And can't you see I am with Meera right now," Uday said coldly and removed her hand while Manyata looked at him in shock and put her hand on her waist.
"Acha bachu! Dost kya mil gayi, toh tu mujhe bhul gaya! Nahin toh baara Princess Princess karta rehta hai, aaj itni jaldi rang badal liya!"
"Manyata-"
"Mujhe tumse akele mein baat karni hai! Sunayi nahi de raha!? Halkat vede suwar kahin ka!" Manyata screamed and after many days it sounded like she meant the swear words.
Meera's eyes grew wide as she heard Manyata's colourful language and she finally burst out into peels of laughter while Uday scratched his head with his finger.
"Uday, tum jao...tum jao," Meera said as she doubled over in laughter and held the counter for support.
"Halkat vede chal na!" Manyata shouted and then pulled Uday by the shirt and dragged him with her.
"Manyata tum kya-" Uday started to say as Manyata dragged him to a corner.
"Uday, haan mujhe tumse kehna tha ke...umm...haan, mujhe bohat bhook lagi hai. Yahan pe khaana milta hai?"
"Manyata, tumhari tabhiyat toh teek hai?" Uday asked, looking at Manyata like she had grown an extra head.
"Udayy...Manyata nahi Princess bolo na," Manyata said in her huskiest voice possible, getting up on her tipee-toes and leaning towards Uday.
"Princess...chall kya raha hai tumhare dimak mein?" Uday said and he held Manyata by the shoulder and pushed her back. By now Manyata felt super-pissed off.
"Mai yahan romance karne ke mood mein hoon aur tumhe samajhai nahi de raha!" Manyata shouted at him, surprising Uday with her words.
"You what? Really Manyata, from where came this change of heart? Is this another plan or after all this time are you finally starting to realize my value?" Uday said sarcastically. While he was saying this his eyes fell on Meera and a person she was talking to.
What the hell is Ranvijay doing here!? Uday thought and he watched him angrily. His eyes then fell on Manyata who was looking in the same direction as him, but with a smile. And then it hit him, what she had been trying to do...But wait, why was she trying to get Ranvijay to meet Meera...How much did she know? What the hell was going on in her scheming mind now!? Uday thought angrily.
"Uday, you aren't cooperating so I'll go now," Manyata said quickly thinking mission accomplished as she saw Ranvijay and Meera chatting away, but unfortunately for her, the little plotting had not gone unnoticed by Uday who was angered by her trying to fool him.
Uday decided that it was time to trap Manyata in her own trap.
Manyata turned to leave quickly, but within seconds Uday had pulled her in, trapping her between himself and the wall behind her. Their bodies weren't touching, yet she felt him too close for comfort as Uday leaned his face mere centimetres away from her, close enough that she could feel his breath on her neck, making shivers run down her spine.
"You know Princess, I was just rethinking things and now I think it's been way too long since I romanced anyone," Uday said in a seductive voice.
Manyata swallowed nervously and tried to avert his direct gaze by looking to the side at their surroundings rather than at him.
"Uday bohat dehr ho chuki hai, mujhe jaana hai," Manyata quickly said and tried escaping from the side, but this time she felt Uday's hands grip her arms and push her back into the wall forcing her to look directly up at him and meet his intense gaze.
"Tum teek keh rahi ho Manyata. Bohat dehr ho chuki hai. I've waited only too long for you Princess, but tumhe apne Ranvijay se phursat mile tab na," Uday said emphasizing every word which was going straight to Manyata's heart.
As soon as she heard Ranvijay's name, Manyata was infuriated. Enough was enough!
"Bas bohat ho gaya Uday! Haan tum teek keh rahe ho, mujhe sirf Ranvijay ki hi parwa hai, tumhari nahi!" Manyata shouted and released herself from Uday's hold easily as he was surprised at her words.
"Yehi sunna chahate ho tum!? Aajkal mai jahan bhi jaati hoon mujhe ek hi shaks dikhayi deta hai. Raat mein uske hi sapne aate hai aur din mein bhi mai uske baare mein sochti rehti hoon. Obviously it's Ranvijay!" Manyata said half mockingly and half in a hurtful voice.
"Tumhe pata hai Uday, ke tum roz kehte ho ke tum mujhe kitni achi tara se jaante ho lekin sach toh yeh hai ke tum mujhe kabhi samajh hi nahi paye. Mujhse pyaar karte ho lekin aaj tak mujh par vishwaas nahi kiya. Pata hai kyun? Woh isiliye kyunki Yuvraaj Udayveer meri liye apni jaan deh sakhta hai lekin kabhi mere liye haar nahi sakhte! Tumhe hamesha yehi baat ka darr laga rehta hai, ke agar maine tumhe dokha de diya, agar mai tumhare haath se nikal gayi toh? Uday tumne aaj tak sirf mujhpe apna haq jitaya hai, pyaar toh kabhi kiya hi nahi kyunke vishwaas ke bina toh koi pyaar ho hi nahi sakhta!" Manyata finished.
Uday didn't reply. He didn't want to. He wanted to continue to stare at his Princess lecturing him, continue to hear the words that were soothing his heart and washing over his soul. Each word spoken out of her beautiful lips was priceless. Although she said it with so much anger and pain, it was those emotions that gave him relief, relief that he affected her to such a deep extent. You're right Manyata. Yuvraaj Udayveer won't ever lose, because losing this game means losing you. And I can't lose you even for you. The idea itself was ridiculous...it was like expecting someone to breath without air. That was Manyata. She wasn't just his obsession, she was a necessity. She was like a drug that made him crave her more everyday and he knew that anything less than forever wasn't good enough to satisfy him.
As Manyata continued to stare at him in anger, her chest heaving and her face full of rage, all Uday did was smile at her admiringly, which managed to totally tick her off.
"Even after hearing all that, you're smiling! UUGGH!" Manyata groaned and turned to walk away frustratedly. She walked only a few steps then turned around and walked back.
"I hate you Udayveer Singh!" Manyata shouted then finally stomped away after hearing Uday chuckle.
Mera itna lamba lecture sunke bhi uss par koi asar nahi hua! In fact, he was smiling and laughing! Like all this is a joke to him! Probably is though...I doubt he takes anything important in life seriously! Manyata thought angrily in her head. She was completely oblivious to the two men standing not very far from her, who were staring at her with evil smiles.
To cool her head down, Manyata asked the waiter for some Coke. Right when she wasn't looking, and the waiter was too busy trying to find his way through the crowd of people, one of the creepy-looking men very secretly slipped in a small white pill in her drink and then leaned back on the counter casually, though he was still studying her from the corner of his eyes.
As soon as the waiter reached her, Manyata grabbed the Coke and gulped it down. Within minutes the pill started to show its effect as Manyata held onto her head feeling very drowsy all of a sudden. The man smirked thinking this was the perfect chance to whisk her away as she seemed to be on her own and definitely going to be too tired to protest.
Manyata felt weird the second she finished drinking the Coke. Her head was starting to feel heavy, and even standing up straight seemed to use up so much energy. She didn't feel giddy and bubbly like the day she had gotten drunk, instead she felt...sleepy. Very sleepy. So sleepy that she felt like she was going to collapse any second.
"Udayveer..." Manyata called out tiredly.
The man frowned as Manyata started walking, searching and weakly calling out for a man named Udayveer.
He decided to quickly take advantage of the girl before she got help and really quickly ran to her and picked her up from under her knees so she was draped over his shoulder. Sure enough, the girl was too tired to realize what was happening, although she repeatedly called out that same name.
Uday put his cell phone back in his pocket after attending a call from his father, then his eyes quickly searched for Manyata who seemed to be nowhere in sight. He panicked, until he heard the soft whisper of his name from behind him and turned around very quickly to see Manyata in a semi-conscious state, fallen over someone's shoulder.
The person had made it to the lobby sucessfully and breathed a sigh of relief. But before he took one more step forward he was stopped abruptly by an arm colliding with his chest. He immediately let go of the girl, but the young man who was his offender was quick to catch the girl and seat her on the couch nearby. He immediately thought about taking the moment of distraction to run away but had barely taken another step before the man halted him.
Udayveer was no longer aware of himself, the place or implications of what he was going to do next. All he could sense was the hot boiling rage that was running through his blood blinding him from everything but his target. Without a second of delay, Uday started to beat the crap out of the man who had dared, the man who had the audacity to try to even touch Udayveer's Princess. He smashed the man's face into the glass pane and it shattered into pieces, but Uday wasn't satisfied yet. He dragged the man up by his collar, and punched him mercilessly on the face and in the gut.
The man was a bloody mess by the time the guards finally came to his rescue, and felt every inch of his body in pain, but the young man had only said a few words and now he was being handed over to the police.
"Manyata! Princess ankhein kholo!" Uday quickly shrugged Manyata who tiredly opened her eyes.
Udayveer had often heard of people doing such things but it was the first time he had seen something like this and he was more than freaked out in his heart at seeing Manyata's condition. He helped her stand up.
Manyata opened her eyes fully and then looked at Uday with relief.
"Uday!!" She said with a tired smile and then threw her arms around his neck.
Udayveer felt relief wash over him, but it was short-lived as he soon realized that Manyata was in fact falling asleep on his shoulder as all her weight started to shift onto him. It was so unexpected that it ended up making him fall back and now he was lying on the floor with Manyata practically sleeping on him.
"Manyata, wake up. You can't go to sleep. Not yet!" Uday shook her but Manyata just slid her arms under his back and made herself comfortable on his chest.
"Princess. Please. I know that man mixed something in your drink and it's making you fall asleep but listen, you CAN'T sleep! I'm scared that if you fall asleep, I don't know when you'll wake up after that! We need to see Doctor Uncle first, only then you are allowed to sleep after you're all checked up. Until then Princess open your eyes!" Uday kept shaking Manyata until she was forced awake. Manyata immediately started whining tiredly.
"Uday, mujhe sone kyun nahi deh rahe ho. Waise bhi, you're so comfortable to sleep on," Manyata said tiredly.
"Princess, on a different occasion I would be delighted to hear that from you but not right now. Come on now get up," Uday ordered her.
Manyata didn't budge so now Uday decided to take matter in his own hands. He rolled over so that now Manyata was on the floor and he was above her.
"Manyata! Wakey-wakey!" He said and started pinching and pulling her cheeks. Thankfully Manyata's eyes shot open and then Uday without wasting another second as he was sure the girl couldn't wait to collapse again, he got up and scooped her up too, then made her stand on her very two feet.
"Princess, walk!" Uday ordered and Manyata half-walked and was half-dragged by Uday to their car. As the cold wind whipped Manyata's face, she felt much more awake from before but the temptation to close her eyes and curl up into sleep was still prominent.
As soon as they got to Uday's jeep, he grabbed a bottle of water and forced Manyata to drink some and then also sprinkled some on Manyata's face.
"Halkat veda!" She shouted.
"That's much better!" Uday said, happy to see her regain some of her energy.
"Now sit in the jeep," Uday told her.
Manyata looked at Uday pleadingly.
"Nope, I am not going to pick you up. You have to do it yourself," Uday informed her.
"Uugh! Fine you meanie!" Manyata said and then managed to get herself seated.
Uday went to his side and also sat down, then quickly started the engine. He had already informed Doctor Uncle and he was going to wait for them at the Mahal. Uday started driving as fast as he could, with his eyes half on the road and half on Manyata. Every now and then when she would try to sleep, he would shake her awake.
It was a forty minutes drive and they had only reached halfway however, when Manyata started shouting at Uday to stop the jeep.
"Manyata what's wrong?" Uday asked worriedly.
"Uday I can't do this. Really I'm going to fall asleep in the next five minutes, way before we reach, and trust me you're not gonna be able to wake me up," Manyata warned.
"Come on Princess, it's just twenty more minutes," Uday protested.
"No Uday, you don't understand. I really can't take it anymore, I feel like I'll die if I don't sleep!"
"Manyata!" Uday said alarmed.
"Okay sorry that was a bit too dramatic but you get the point. So now instead of focusing on the road and driving can you please like find some way to entertain me. You need to get that adrenaline rush running!" Manyata informed him.
"Ummm...okay..So Manyata what would you like me to do for you?" Uday asked unsure.
"Uday I am too tired for this! Figure it out yourself otherwise Good Night and Sweet Dreams to you!" Manyata shouted then proceeded to close her eyes.
"No Princess wait!" Uday shouted but by now Manyata had closed her eyes.
Great! She was resting away peacefully like Sleeping Beauty while he was having heart attacks...wait that's it! Come on Uday, use your Disney Princess knowledge! There has to be some benefits from reading Choti all those bedtime stories. How did the Prince awaken Beauty from her sleep!!?? ... Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!
Without a second more of delay, Uday crushed his lip on Manyata's and kissed her as hard as he could. Princess you can't give up on me. Come on, respond! Uday begged in his mind and then continued to kiss her like his life depended on it, which technically it did.
Thankfully, after about half a minute, Uday felt Manyata part her lips on her own and he could sense that she was coming out of her slumber. Uday decided to make sure that there was no chance of his Princess going to sleep now, and they were now both on Manyata's seat. Uday snaked his arm around her waist tightly and started to deepen the kiss and sure enough Manyata started to respond to him. Only he knew the relief and elation he felt when he felt Manyata's fingers travel in his hair and hold onto him. They were now responding to each other with the same raw passion and that same craving for each other's love. After what felt like eternity, it was Manyata who pushed Uday away and broke the kiss, but only after her lungs couldn't take it anymore and she needed a breath of air. Her face was flushed with colour and she felt not only her cheeks, but her whole body was feeling very warm and hot all of a sudden.
She finally looked up at Uday who was also slightly out of breath and smiled.
"Not bad Halkat veda," she admitted.
"I think I can stay awake but only for ten minutes," Manyata said mischieviously and her and Uday moved in closer. Now they were both looking down but their heads were leaning on each other, and they both had a relaxed smile on their face, which in fact reflected the feelings of pure serenity and bliss that they were both experiencing. Uday held both of Manyata's hands in his own and they both closed their eyes for just a couple seconds, to hold onto that beautiful moment so they could continue to cherish it long after it disappeared. Manyata was first to open her eyes and she gave Uday a very quick peck on his lips before settling back in her seat.
"Uday I'm awake. We can go home now," Manyata said.
"Are you sure Princess you can make it? Otherwise..." Uday winked.
"Yes. I'm sure. I feel wide awake," Manyata said determinedly although really in her head she was so tempted to just say no, just to kiss Uday again. But Manyata controlled those emotions.
"Alright. As you wish Princess," Uday said and he started the jeep once more and now they were back on their way home. The next twenty minutes were spent in a comfortable silence but Manyata continued to stay awake every time Uday checked on her.
As they finally reached home, Uday helped Manyata get out of the jeep, held her by the hand, and lead her inside.

Doctor Uncle performed some quick tests on Manyata and finally after they were sure that the pill would have no dangerous effect on Manyata's body or health and would only stay in effect for about eight more hours, Manyata was allowed to sleep.
But now when Manyata had the permission to sleep, it seemed to be evading her and instead she found herself closing her eyes only to lose herself in the thoughts of her Prince Charming.
