This VM truely captures the essence of DEK, what could have been done with Manyata and ManVeer. The bitter sweet relation of Manyata with Udayveer, the cute antics of Manayta, that were so funny that it had us rolling on the floor, the sweet mistakes and chawlpana, that was so adorable in the past... Most importantly, the developing relation of Manyata with her family, especially with her father who always seemed to hate her for some reason, may be her living in the chawl was a great factor in this...
But alas! What happened all of a sudden? The playful sweet drama, with a twist of politics and a slight dark undertone suddenly changed into a nasty political drama involving murder and backstabbing,... Did we bargain for this?
The drama was mainly the journey of a young girl from the slums to becoming a Princess and ultimately a ruler, to become responsible. Instead, the main track takes one step forward and two step backwards. Its the same, Manyata starts her Princess training everytime, but stops in the middle of it. This I think is done mainly to stretch the plot, to delay the transformations as this is the main track, and if it happens so quickly, people might loose interest in it, but is it really? Do we want it to be delayed so much? Or do we want something substantial during this long transformation?
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Was it really necessary to destroy Mnayata's character so much? to reduce her to the ruins? To make her so irritating?
What i think is instead of stretching this for so long, along with the main track, they cud have done many things,...
1. Sidelined Akash very early in the show, when people are disliking the character so much, there was no need for the unnecessary twists and plots associated with him just to show Akash leaving the show.
2. They cud have brought Akash after Manyata's complete transformation, in form of a rich guy, it wud have been interesting to watch Manyata choose Uday over Akash.
3. the catfights if J and Manyata, which were very entertaining, and show some amount of bonding between the two, as sisters, no not like Bidaai type sisters, they should fight and quarrel, but they should be able to stand up for each other when needed. Those were really cute and sweet. Instead it turned all nasty.
4. The fun element of the show, was one thing that kept us all hoked, which has been missing now a days.
5. They cud have shown more Cute childhood memories from Uday's POV, and that would have been a lot interesting to watch.
6. Include a very passionate sword fight of ManVeer, with Uday having flashbacks of the incident in past, and he freezes completely.
...and there are so many points i want to say, but whats the need, when they dont take our suggestions and use it in their 'so-called' script, for their 'so-called' fans. i feel terribly sorry for DEK now a days, as this is the show that i have been most attached, and it pains me to see it dip so badly. My frustrations have reached the 7th sky now.
Its not about ManVeer any more, its about the Charm and essence of DEK. Most Importantly Manyata's character should be revised again.
