There are different kinds of music in the world. why do we need music? Is traditional music loosing its importance to international music?

Is music essential for our life. If so why? There are creatres that make SOUND for communication, but it is not quite music.. There life still goes on. However, at the dawn of civilization MAN became musical and most of us continue to be so. Does music represent civilized form of life?
Now we can debate..

I find music to be one of the essential forms of art that make humans distinct. It gives immense joy, relief and entertainment to life that would have been dry and dull..

Did anyone see CNN Hero show last night??? They had one girl presented with Wonder hero award for helping her cousin who had autism with music.

She put 26 alphabets on piano which helped her cousin who has autism make words and connect that with music. With music she was able to connect with people on different level. I was so impressed by it.

Music is one language which has no boudries and very essential in a human life.

It was a wonderful story.

Yes! depends on situations it can be energy booster, stress buster, helps focus etc 😊

Civilized form of life ? - How can we determine that as, music showed its presence uncivilzed era too (jhuma la la hu hu 😆😆)... Tough one! I guess it does😊

that is civilization already.. there was food gathering, shelter provision and colony living.. 😳 cave man civilization 😛 😆

I think in our life...every sound is related to music,even a crying baby sound or rain falling sound and everything... 😳Its a universal language, If we learn clasical music we can understand Raga's its allow you to express our feeling through music, and in Veda's esply Ayourveda there is Music theraphy,the good music help us to relax and refresh. 😳

music is not essential... dont deaf people survive without missing anything?... so thats ok....music is the luxury of the inquisitive....

Music seems to have evolved before the languages were born and it is an expression of art. As Qwerty mentioned , music is not necy for survival, but it does make the life as we know much better and understandable and forms a huge part of any culture.
