Any who, why call it tampering? Again looking for a negative in something that is done with positive intention --- they want to promote good films, and I think color is good way to lure youngsters, and make them appreciate the old. OR I can be practical and say that it is just a way to make more money in a money-minded world.😃

And speaking of mughal-e-azam --- what a long movie; I must have watched it in 3-4 sittings😆; had it been in black-white, I wouldnt' have had the patience to watch it at all. Color does add value to the product (at least in my case).

Totaly agree with the highlighted part.. I would love to watch old Devdas with Dilip kumar movie but not until someone makes it in color..😛 Personaly I found Moghul-e-azam highly overrated even in color..

That said I love watching songs from B/W era whenever they are on Tv in between shows and mostly like them for the simpliciy and purity actresses enact...

Personally I love Black & White original movies. I even love B/W pictures too. Has different beauty about it. If by remaking them with color if it enhances the movie and youth is interested in watching them I would be all for it.

I Wonder how Naya daur will look in color 😊

I did watch Mughal-E-Azam colored one but was not much thrilled by it. For me it did not do much. 😳

I personally think they should let the original in original form .. cause they picturized it accordingly and it has its own charm ..for eg. the way they use the contrast and lighting techniques in Bandani , kaghaz kay phool ,sahab bibi gulam etc ..they did it according to the b\w version I don't think making them in color could increase the apeal rather than reducing it IMHO .. Mughl-e-Azam was a different cause it was made as a color movie and couldn't be completed in color due to lack of budget

In this color world I have noticed that people get family picture in B/W to get different effect. I think we will get different type of enjoyment in old B/W movies in color. I think It is just buisness plan to earn more and I do not see anything wrong in it. It is just like hindi songs - original, jhankar beats, dhol mix, bhangra mix etc, etc.

I agree @ bold 👍🏼

I don't think adding color is tampering with the original. It is done to create interest in the movie again. The older generation who has watched those movies in B/W will surely watch it to find the difference. I don't think color will change much.

I won't compare this with tampering with paintings or remix music albums. Both will make huge difference in the form of art. Coloring B/W pictures will only enhance the quality.
