They have lost 6 matches out of last 7. Kiwis whitewashed them 3-0 today. Yes, Australia didnt have most of its main players but still 99 out of 100 they are expected to win no matter what the conditions are. And also they lost 2 matches after scoring huge (300+) scores and despite having Kiwis under pressure. It is a worrying thing for them thought it is still a bit premature to think anything. So what do you think?

I think NZ has a tendency to crush the visiting teams and defeat them even morally just prior to world cup, last time it was India, this time it's Aus. I wouldn't read much into it. Any team can still grab the WC. However it's always pleasure to see Mcgrath being treated like ordinary. 😆 Lee and Symonds will be greatly missed though.
I'm encouraged with Indian squad for world cup and looking forward for it.

Don't count your chickens too soon. Leadership matters for an army and this army was missing leadership (Read: Ponting). As much as I love to see them loose, I have to say they are still the Roger Federer of cricket. McGrath is an old warrior who licks his wounds and vents it out pretty quickly so watch out for him in World Cup. Breet Lee not being available in the beginning is definitely a plus for the rest of the world but they still have a ton of firepower.

Having said that...let's hope it is end of a seemingly endless era.

Aussies had to cum down one day or the other.... i mean their winning streaks had to lessen sumday, and thank god it happened before the WC..... 😆 😆

but on a serious note, one really cant say that austrailia has demoslished completely, yes they will bring about a big confidence boost to plenty of teams, i mean just before the WC they turn out to be this way, thats a huge turning point and actually a bonus 4 a lot of teams... but then aussies r a strong team, i doubt that they will be affected in such a big way, they will cum back strong... a team that has dominated for 5 yrs straight can not just vanish completely from the spotlighjt in a flash, their players r very determined ... and along wid that most of their players r in their mid 30's... so dont know how aussies will turn out once those players will retire, as a lot r on peaks of retirement... but overall one must not underestimate them totally....

overall, this shud give all teams more confidence in the WC... as now there appears to be more competition, its anyone's game now, not just austrailia, austrailia, austrailia lyk usual! 😊

What goes up must come down...but they still are the strongest team with the greatest probability of winning the world cup! 😛

Aussies to lose at a stretch just before WC is actually not a good sign cos.. Aussies will come back with a vengeance and they will be more determined and more hungry to prove that they are the best team... They are the wounded Kangaroo [lion] 😉 and they are going to retaliate with much more intent..

About several players retiring at just about the same time factor, it may affect them for few series but then again they will come back as a strong force because their domestic cricket is solid and their attitude towards winning is creditable. 👏

Anybody but Aussies for the Cup! And dont worry they are not called world champions for Nothing...

I dont think the auusie team has lost its spark . I def feel they stand a god chance of winning the WC this year as well but this time its more open as many teams have the confidence to beat them . The most important thing abt the aussies which our indian team esp lack is the killer instinct and the fighting spirit and that will make them bounce back . Moreover most of their star performers were missing in the matches against NZ .

Overall I think this WC is the most open in a long long time coz this time no one can say clearly which team would win as all the teams are on more or less equal platform and that makes it more exciting .

Well, everyone goes through low phases, and the same is happening with the aussies. franly, even though they're my fave team, their chances of lifting the WC luk slim. Main reason id 'coz Ponting might not play in the WC. he is the best captain the team can have. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. 😳
but on the other side, its boring now to see them win every match they play. I cant help hoping sum1 else wins the WC, some rather unexpected team. It'll be interesting watch if that happens.
