I think PR was taking a dig at Akshay's Canadian citizenship. Richa is Indian.

Considering he is the highest paying taxpayer in the entire country, I’d beg to differ on his relevance to the average Indian.

You're using diff criteria. Prakash Raj clearly believes citizenship is more important.

As I said in my first post, mountain out of a mole-hill. The Army man made a statement which only sounds good when Sunny Deol says it. Other than condemnation from his Pakistani Counterparts, it achieves nothing. And the Pakistani Army thrives in this war of words and Jingoistic statements. The Indian Army is too proud to get itself involved in childish exchanges. Chaddha went a bit far with Galwan, she could've made her point without bringing in a sensitive topic.

All that said, it's most definitely not a "National Issue" with news channels giving it prime time & people losing its sh*t. Everyone is just trying to " saink their roti on the hot tandoor".

For someone like me, it's hilarious/ignorant like most RW/LW e-wars.

well, what can we say? Prakash Raj is clearly not very bright is he?😉

its more patriotic to pay your taxes. Prakash Raj should try to get a life, and earn enough to pay taxes that make a difference.

by the way, why is SRK not the highest tax payer? Isn't he richer than AK? Smart accountants or hera-pheri? Maybe one two ka four everywhere?😆

Akshay may not "suck up", but he behaves like an opportunist.

I really dislike this connection which implies that "many" of the Hindi filmindustry who aren't pro BJP/Modi are - written like this - automatically pro Pakistan.

I even doubt that they are pro Pakistan because it is an authoritarian country and someone who dislikes what happens since Modi is head of India's government will not be in favour of another authoritarian regime.

Those, you seem to hint at, in any way have Afghan roots...the territory where their anchestors have lived wasn't Pakistan which is a "fabricated" country (a BIG fault which happened in 1947!).

So, I'm really pi**ed when someone tells an Indian who doesn't follow someone else's narrow-minded opinion to "go to Pakistan" or labels this person "pro-pak".

The same reason the actual rich Indians (like those in the list below) pay less taxes than Akshay whose net worth is magnitudes lower. They invest money into business enterprises, because of which they get tax deductions. Those businesses get taxed, but the rate is lower in most countries. IIRC, corporate taxes are lower in India as well.

Those businesses in turn employ people and create secondary employment, so most governments consider it a win-win.

Comparing personal income tax of the average Joe to corporate tax paid by business owners is a common tactic of the left wing. At best it's economic illiteracy and at worst malevolent and intended to create class resentment in order to achieve power. Would recommend skepticism when dealing with anyone who suggests it to you.
