Hola people.!
I am not very active on debate forum but i come here occasionally.
A question for all -
I often find myself in situations where i have to choose between being practical or moralistic. Me being a highly principled and a rational person always find it difficult to choose between the two..!
Given you being in such a situation, What will you choose - being practical or your morals..?
Looking forward to your answers..!!

Most of the time p and m dont clash so we dont face this choice.
At times we are have to choose between p and m.
The answer depends on the type of situation faced. If situation is related to ownself then one can take the luxury to decide and i will go with m over p. However it the situation is about someone else then I will think what is important for that person. If that person values m more then its m. If that person values p more then its p.
In short there is no answer to such questions. It is highly subjective and depending upon situation both p and m are options.

Hi,

I think the idea of practicality v/s morality is a highly subjective issue. There is no clear or definite answer to this question.
But in general -- I would choose the practical over the moral. It is simple - this is a dog eat dog world, and you have to survive.

I'm not too sure because it depends on the situation but generally I follow my morals, what I believe is the right thing to do

And for this very reason -- always adapt morals that are flexible, can be customized, edited and manipulated to your own advantage in any given situation -@

edit - I guess one has got to take a balanced approach on a case by case basis. Morals, ethics, values aren't standard set of guidelines that are universally accepted, are they ?

I have realized sarcasm is best relayed with visual cues. Doesn't look all that great in writing so, I ma be safe & say practicality. Morals are meant to change to my advantage. That is the reason they exist in the first place.
