Surface RT and iPad are fair comparison, both have tablet OS. Still, 8 betas it in some places. But that's a choice people have to make. But they are the one in the same segment, not Pro and iPad.

Multitasking wise and app switching are great improvement over iOS. Snapping one app to side while working on another simultaneously is a great feature. Also, USB 2.0 port while iPad is replacing with just a thunderbolt connector which won't be compatible with anything. Surface also comes with micro SD. You can just connect mouse and keyboard and they work.

You can even use remote connection on 8. Multimedia features etc. are there. Office suite is there. But yeah, it's just a matter of personal preference.

And pro is not the same thing as iPad, it is not competing with it. You get RT for that, a tablet OS(though it has more functionality) to compete with iPad and such. Pro is a full PC, it is not competing with tablets.

When Android Tab was first launched same arguments of how many app does Ipad had when it first launched was extensively used but till now all android has is blown up phone apps. I do hope window can lure developers to code tab specific apps. YOu can still do remote window connection on Ipad with Teamviewer or joinme.
