Do opposites REALLY attract?

We have all heard, seen and read stories of two very different and opposite people falling in love. Although the idea seems very compelling, some say that the reality is different. So what do you think? Can two opposite people with two very different tastes, habits and backgrounds fall in love?

I don't think I could be attracted to someone who is the COMPLETE opposite of me. The whole opposites attract thing may be true on some level but for me, if your basic morals and values don't match, then the attraction doesn't really happen. I'm sure I'd love to debate with such a person but attraction? Nah!

As a matter of fact I think even in general the belief that opposites attract isn't usually true.

its true that...biologically man is attracted to woman, women are atracted to men, bt that attraction cant remain the same forever...😊

Sure they can because even people who appear poles apart are in actuality quite the same.

For one thing, where do these opposites meet? In the street? on the train or wherever. It's the same place. A place they both frequent. That's one similarity. Now consider why they met at that location? They both had something to do in the same place. Yet another similarity.

Now, once in a relationship both the individuals tend to do regular things together like eating out or watching a movie. Their tastes might differ but they will always find common ground in an effort to spend time together. That's the beginning of the end of any opposite traits they had in the first place.

Soon they ate telling friends about all the things they have in common. Were they ever from opposite ends of the spectrum? No one can even remember.

So, do real opposites ever fall for each other? Or is it just people who see some similarity / compatibility regardless of the difference outsiders perceive in the relationship, there is always some common ground.
