RTH is the protagonist, who knows that Mister K is just very diplomatically trying to gain power, and knows the true survival skills and what's more important than certain things.

Gauri ji is the religious fanatic, at times going delirious about their future of them and supposedly receiving advice from God about what to do to stay alive till some ship arrives. Unfortunately, among some few insignificant stuff that washed to the shore along with the humans, was a copy of the Vedas, which includins everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, so she sometimes makes people crazy with her religious rants about thunder and what not killing certain people and her usual habit of quoting the Vedas.
