I see. But many topics here are being repeated anyways. Plus, that topic was created 4 years ago....people change, opinions change. I hope we can reach a conclusion from this one too. Anywho, thanks for the link....I'll take a look at it in my spare time. =)
Btw, why do you think we debate? Do you think its easier to debate virtually?

Like you said, it's nice to know other people's POV and letting others know about yours. Plus, it is nice to see how many people share the same stance as you do. If there were no debate, then civilization wouldn't advance, as there is always one question that is co-existent: "What can we/I do to make the world a better place?" and there are many opinions on that, which causes a difference of opinions. Also, certain incidents are worth discussing, which also why we debate upon the pros and cons on that.

Been there, done that. FYI, that is stage 1.

Stage 2: you will still do all that but only with yourself. You will be the one asking questions and you will be the one answering them. In short, you will be debating with yourself. You will have minimal outwardly influence during this stage. At this point, you are listening to others but not considering any inputs because you already have those inputs. All possible viewpoints are built in, inside your system.

Stage 3: You eliminated most viewpoints and settled down on just a couple. You are not sure which one is the right one because the truth is still eluding you.

Stage 4: I wish I knew.

You scare me Mister. K. But see your curiosities are deeper. My curiosities can be more mundane like which idiot came up with chai tea latte (tea tea coffee and milk) to why chocolate is so good. I do get curious about the deep end and contemplate it, but in the end I'm happy playing in the shallow too.

Debu well said.
Debayon sounds like Debateon.
yes I noticed your great interest in Ice Thinker's response on Kashmir issue, but he has disappeared as usual.😆

Not exactly! Space-time is the WHERE and WHEN. WHY did it happen WHERE it happened and WHEN it happened either has significance if all else has significance or has no significance if nothing else has significance. It seems like it is observer dependent (what some might call subjective) but the act of observation is also an event which has to adhere to the same rules of significance / insignificance.

Every event in the universe is unique. If it happened at the same place, it didn't happen at the same time. If it happened at the same time, it didn't happen at the same place. By place, I mean that point in space when looked at all the way down to the subatomic level. A Planck length to be precise. And by time, I mean all the way down to the lowest possible metric of time, which is a Planck time. At that scale, every event is unique. Has to be.

An observer might attach significance or detach significance for a single event or for a summary of events. But left to themselves, the events are devoid of any such purpose. They keep occurring till they "run out" of space-time.

Wow. You write pretty intensely, Mister K.
@bold: Ahh...I don't know why but this reminded me of the wave-particle duality theory since you're mentioning things at atomic/sub-atomic level. The idea seems somewhat similar however, you're talking about space-time whereas the theory talks about position-speed. God, I think I've forgotten my physics. . I'll be glad if you can shed some light on this space-time concept...it seems interesting.

I only reach Stage 4 when the above process is done for a serious issue. Nevertheless, whatever I think about, the above process runs in a cycle after Stage 3. Its similar to the process of formulating a thesis according to the scientific method except that I dont really write down my research or the data I seem to collect. =P
PS: I'm sorry for quoting you from various replies....just wanted to add in my two cents. 😳

Did I not say I like you the first time I saw your post?! I wasn't kidding!

We did recently discuss quantum physics among other things of related nature. I will try to fish out a couple of links for you. Or you could look for them in threads that have the word "universe" in the subject line. But if you want to start fresh, what exactly do you have in mind?

Why, thank you, again. 😳
Well, as far as I know, when you look from a dimensional perspective, time is one of them. We very very lightly brushed at that in our physics class, nothing too specific. I'll look for that "universe" thread and research on my own too since I'm planning to revise Physics anyways. Any links would be helpful, nevertheless. =)
