Maybe some chemistry experts here (attending tutions and all) can tell us more about this...maybe in 1998 they realised that what they showed then was a mistake. 😛

Well Aditi. what they show in CID is a simple Acid/Base indicator test !! addition of Phenolphthalein to any base solution turns it to pink in colour ... Phenolphthalein is an easily available lab chemical so that is what the CID people use I'm sure 😆

Okay re-run discussions or chemistry discussions 😆 Well, Kissa Zeher Ka was an episode where I loved ACP...(he was the main attraction, after all!).. The story was commendabale 👏 and the fact about chemical turning pink , its a symbolic thing after all ! Foresinc experts would actually be able to say things are so easy in reality😛

Guess what I we had a meet the police yesterday in my area for the first time and as always, the turn out was not great shakes from the people side. But, the ACP's assistants were there I mean the senior Inspectors (two of them), and the traffic incharge for my area and the drugs department second in line for my area were all there . Many discussions happened.

But the highlight was , I asked the Sr. Inspectors the same question that has been asked here. The poison test turning pink etc. As shown on Tv serials is it true. The officers smiled and asked if I was a fan of CID😲 I grinned in affirmation. They told me that is not so as the actual poison detection tests are not revealed to the public for the reason that people (some) may start having a lab st home without the requisite licenses and criminal minds may get all the info and more harm may be caused.

This led to many a Q & A rounds. But seeing the discussion going on here, I felt I have to share this here.😊
