Actually, I loved the ferverent avatar of Abhijit back in the day, but some of the problems were that he was so angry at times, that he always thought himself to be right, and didn't look at the proofs etc.. Bahut jasbati tha woh. Even in The Case Of The Frame-Up he did so.
Yes when Abhi said that it came as a shocker for me as well,but you know I've always loved that angry Abhijeet a lot,there was this aggression within him which was very appealing,he was known for that,yes I agree he did think that he was right,but if u remember in case of deadly-frame up the proofs were against Sudhakar so he had no other option than to suspect him,the dead body was found in his car which was a very big thing,and being a dedicated officer he had to suspect Sudhakar,even in Dishonest Cop there were no proofs earlier that the husband was the murderer so he did not believe Daya at that time,whenever he was in such a situation he always shined out as a cop and this anger he had in him,which was a bit high was itself the charm of Abhijeet,his ruthless aggression made people love him more !!
