The new Creative Head of Sphere Origins (PH of IPK- Ek Baar Phir) also worked on CB1 and Veera. Check out her interview. Wonder if she was brought in as Sphere Origins is trying their hand at new genre of love stories. Previously, their IPK1 was in alliance with 4 Lions.

Thanks for sharing the article. Baisakhi was the assitant creative head when Shetty's were incharge of CB1 (the beginning part of the show). When they left around August/September and the Choubey's took over, Baisakhi became the creative head and as far as I remember she remained in this position till the fiasco of the one night stand between Dev and Vishaka happened. There was a huge backlash from the audience regarding what they were planning to show and I think the channel/PH changed their mind at the last moment (what they showed in the media segments regarding what will be shown in the episode was different to what was actually shown). Anyway after that episode was broadcast, her name was no longer in the credit list.

Baisakhi was also the creative head of Veera during the initial months of the show. I think she did quite a good job there. There were some episodes which I did not like (regarding Ratan and Sampuran), but on the whole she did a good job from what I could see the way the episodes were presented.

I don't know whether she is involved with EBP directly or not. Coming to EBP can anyone tell me who is responsible for story, screenplay, dialogues. I tried to read it on screen but the writing was not that clear. I know that Nandita Mehera is the director, but I could not get the other names.

Misti, thanks for the information. I did not know that Baishaki was involved with CB1. I started reading this information only when CB2 started. So I remember that Joy Mukherjee was CH for CB2 in the beginning.

I too did not like what they showed for Sampuran's back story or how they showed Ratan absolving him of his mistakes. But the rest was good. Initially, this show had low TRPs because of lesser known actors and no promos. But besides actors, the emotions shown in those initial months made this show very popular slowly. Veera is a good example of how a good script, emotions and good actors can make a show successful.

After reading that she was involved with Veera and CB1, I just was wondering if she would be involved with EBP. SP seems to be banking on this show to make 6:00 p.m. slot popular. So they might want people that had past successes to be involved with the show. Baishaki must be quite known to Avinash considering that she worked for so long on CB1 during its peak.

So far, the response seems to be positive on EBP. PV2 did not have a good response in the first week itself. Of course it is too early to tell. But Avinash's twitters indicated that he was happy with the responses he got the first day.

Also, I too couldn't need the information about writers because the version I watched only started from director onwards.

But angie, though Avi did good, the scenes were just loking as a copy paste
and It may not well go with TRP audience
The story was good,
but because of some scenes,
it was looking as if a cut paste of the previous show
and in that case, The whole progress will be a failure and even
SP's plan to bank the show for 6 pm slot, will be a disaster

Hari, I haven't seen even one episode of IPK1. Also I haven't seen any love stories of Lion Productions or other PH. So it is hard for me to know what is new and what is being repeated.

Probably they used the same type of scenes to attract audience. If you notice, the channel did not do much publicity at all. Unlike Mahabharat, they started showing promos just couple of weeks ago and revealed the new name too just now. They are counting on negative publicity as a promotion tool.

This is just the first episode and they already showed interaction of leads. I think probably they will be more subtle with copying of scenes once the show settles down a bit and side characters are shown. In CB2, they too did the same thing where in the first week they were trying to copy many elements of CB1.

But I find that there was a difference in how PV2 was shown in the first episode and how EBP is shown. In PV2, there was no focus on leads (except for Sarita) in the first episode. It was on characters of PV1. PV1 actors were used for promotion too. Here the focus has entirely been on Shlok and Avinash is the face of EBP. So there is a difference in treatment.

It is too soon to make a judgment based on the first episode only. So for a new person like me (the one who is unfamiliar with IPK1), the episode was interesting.

Angie...
yes, but people who will be watching this show which was coming on SP,
will be familiar with IPK
for them definitely the show will look like a copy paste ,
unless, they don't remember the episodes they watched for a serial

Hari, I agree to a large extent to what you are saying. If they want to make this 6:00 p.m. slot successful, they need to bring some innovative elements. But this is just one episode. Also if you notice, most of romantic scenes are same between the couple in TV serials. It depends on which couple you like. From what some mentioned, IPK1 scenes are similar to Geet's scenes. So there is a copy and paste. But once audience start falling for lead characters, such scenes become part of the show and the story takes over. Hopefully, this would be the case with this show too.

Hari I have watched IPKKND on an on and off basis and the similarities are there. As Angie said I think the similarities have been there for a reason...to maintain the IPKNND brand name and maybe later they will not be so obvious but more subtle. As an example if one reads a Mills and Boons romance then all the stories under that brand name are similar...they have more or less similar introductions to the leads and the endings are also similar...just the way the individual stories are dealt with are different and it usually depends on who is writing the story...but generally they are still very similar to each other.

Another thing is that whether one likes it or not EBP will be compared to the first show (even if one is not doing it deliberately). All sequels are compared and stories under the same brand name are also compared. It is something that the makers, the actors and audience have to take in stride while dealing with this show.
