ya, she actually seems to be his mother.
sam's and shika's mothers dont really look real. i mean one can easily say they are acting. but not in the case of abhi's mom. she is really sweet and gives a motherly feeling.
she was angad's mother in law.
and a superb actor.

i juz loved dat scene like any other mom even she wanted abhi nd sam to gt married before the mission but abhi ka saara dhyaan abhi sirf mission per hai but finally he agreed for the engagement
