  • Kavita Awaasthi kavita.awaasthi@ hindustantimes. com Farhan has gone on record to say that you were rude to him on the sets of the show. Is that true? He also said that you are a superstar. Do you feel like one? Did you consider putting in a good word to

Out of the box 'I HAVE NEVER CLAIMED TO BE A SUPERSTAR'

Says Sanaya Irani, reacting to a comment her former co-star made about her

TV actor Sanaya Irani's last show ' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon ' was a hit. Probably that's why, when reports of her headlining the serial, Chhanchhan, surfaced, expectations were high. However, the ratings did not impress. Recently, Sanaya's co-star Farhan Khan was also replaced by Anuj Sachdev in the show. Apparently, lack of chemistry between the two, and as a result, low TRPs, led to Farhan's exit. In this candid chat, Sanaya talks about dealing with the controversies that come with fame and more. I haven't read those interviews, but a lot of people have and they are laughing, as am I. I feel bad for Farhan. I hope he never gets a co-star like me again. I wish him mental health and a good career. I hope he becomes a good actor and a better human being. He holds no value in my life, so what he says about me doesn't matter to me. I've never claimed to be a superstar. I don't think anyone is. These tags don't matter to me. On TV, people love you as long as your show is on air. I don't believe in the word star. If being the most popular person or doing the best TV show was my priority, then I wouldn't have started my career with a small role in Left Right Left. Actors like Farhan grab lead roles when they get a chance because they feel that these roles make them bigger stars. I picked up smaller roles as I wanted to become a better actor. I was not looking for fame. If I could put in a word, you think Farhan would have been in the show in the first place? Mohit auditioned for the show initially, but he didn't get the role. People from the channel and production house decide who to cast and who not to. Not right now. We will tell the world when we think about it. it's work for me, and it feels like it's work. There's nothing disturbing about any trend on television as everything is about creativity. No daughter-in-law cries at the top of her voice or is scared of her mother-in-law or husband in reality.

I love her interviews because there is no beating around the bush.
She is straight and brutally honest and does not believe in being diplomatic & politically correct.
She never leaves doubt in anyone's mind about where she stands on any issue.
I love people like that.

I like the fact that she does not believe in all these tags that media assign to name it names in the industry, she just wants to be a good actor and Sanaya let me tell you, you are one and a good one!
That is the only reason I appreciate you for.

TFS ... this sounds like Sanaya ... straight to the point and brutally honest.

She enjoys what she does, and wants to be a better actor. That's why she picked this role and this show, to widen her range and her repertoire, and to challenge herself. Looking forward to seeing what she, and the makers, make of the old hackneyed saas bahu topic, and if they can indeed bring some freshness into it.

TFS

Hope this is the last we hear about this matter. Sanaya has said her piece and made it clear that her work is her priority not the tags or allegations. Her brutal honesty may again draw some skeptics, but I respect it.

Like Sanaya, time for us also to focus on the episodes and show. Hope the creatives make the most of the cast they have.
