Neha-Kabir or Neha-Rishi

Got a question. Just started watching CSM recently. Seeing promos at the beginning of the launch of the serial I thought this girl Neha is Rishi's wife. Now she is pretending to be Kabir's wife.

So even if she gets married to Kabir (as per his family's wishes), she can't be his wife technically, right? Because her hubby is Rishi (they are neither divorced nor is he dead). So... am confused why all this fuss about maang ka sindoor on Kabir's jacket precap.
