So it was Saturday night yesterday and I was watching - 'Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi' because I was in the mood for some B&W gem.

Trivia : Apparently Kishore Kumar made this film hoping that it would fail commercially. He wanted to show losses in his income in order to avoid paying the Income tax authorities so he made two movies - Lookochuri (Bengali) and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, then waited for them to collapse. But both the movies became hits and he was so angry by the end result that he gave all the rights for the film to his secretary Anoop Sharma, who retained the copyright.

It is speculated that the romance between Madhubala and Kishore Da birthed on the set of this movie, but I've always (in my head) had a notion that they were very very good friends who had a connection and later Kishore Da married Madhubala because she wanted to die a married woman. That's just me though. My pulaao. 😳

The meeting in the rain is my favorite scene from the movie, undoubtedly.

Manmohan : 'Aap Gayin Nahi Abhi Tak?'

Renu : 'Please Darwaza Kholo...Main Bohot Mushkil Mein Hoon...'

Manmohan : 'Haan Bohot Acha Hua...'

I CAN'T 🤣🤣

Lyrics : Majrooh Sultanpuri

Music : SD Burman

Singer : Kishore Da and Manna Dey

OK, that comedy phase is over? I have no songs of liking in that genre, so kept myself silent. 😊

It seems, now we are back to Talat. Good.

Here is a rare song sung by this great singer.

This page is dead! Where is everyone?

Last ditch attempt to revive, shall we post 'bahaar' or 'vasant' songs since Spring is here?

I guess its summer in many parts of India already, but humour me, will you? 😆
