Thank you, Avantika! 😳It helps that I’m so passionate about these movies and songs.
I don’t have a blog, though what is this IF magazine you refer to?

I shied away from posting these songs or info abt movies/ actors on IF because I thought I’d get laughed at and no one would be interested. But this Sheep game proved me wrong!

Thank you all for being here! 🤗

This song! My god, this song!

It’s like someone distilled the very essence of romance and injected it into Rafi’s voice, Shammi’s acting, Majrooh’s lyrics and Usha Khanna’s breathtaking tune!

Perfection!

I swoon, and my heart melts into a puddle everytime I hear/ see this song. Goosebumps ☺️

Shammi looks heart-stoppingly handsome in white ☺️ and Rafi’s voice is intoxicating like fine wine. My goodness, what a song! ❤️ Asha Parekh doesn’t stand a chance! 😆

That was a great tribute to the wonderful entertainer Riya!

Beautifully written.

To be frank, I was only in love with his songs. I seldom watched his movies. But, I must say some actors created a style and they not only made it famous but also stuck to it. Shammi Kapoor was one of them.

Just like his song "Chahe koi mujhe junglee kahe, Kehne do ji kehta rahe, Hum pyar ke toofano mein gire hai, hum kya kare?"

Shammi Kapoor will be remembered in that avatar forever.

Cheers..

Ohhoh ..what a passionate and prem bhari write up for your evergreen Hero Priya?!👏

I must say, it is highly expressive tribute to Shammi who was millions of fans' God in the 60s and 70s. ❤️

I have seen his romantic face through your eyes afresh while reading your words. 🤗This super-energetic dancer, who taught Indians how to groove, will always be remembered for his lively screen-presence. A romantic hero who was proverbially born with his dancing shoes on, was also a tech-geek and was way ahead of his contemporaries in visualizing trends.

He was one of the first celebrities to have mastered the internet. He was the Founder and Chairman of Internet Users Community of India and put in a lot of efforts to enable the setting up of Ethical Hackers Association. The actor himself maintained a website dedicated to the Kapoor family and updated information about all the members of the family, from the eldest to the youngest. He also kept in touch with his fans through the site.

Here is my pick to pay my tribute to this highly rated Indian cinema's romantic hero ----

And that dancer's name who competed with Vyjayanthimala in Amrapali is -- Madhavi Krishnan, trained in the classical dance traditions of bharatanatyam and kathakali in Singapore and India, she founded the National Dance Company in 1970 and, through it, created works that integrated Indian classical dance forms with multicultural influences. When the Cultural Medallion made its debut in 1979, she numbered amongst its recipients and became the first dancer as well as the first female recipient of the prestigious national award.

Thanks for the info, Madhu. Though I confess from the first photo she reminds me more of a young M.S. than the dancer we see with Vyjayanthimala on screen 😳

She’s the Raj Nartaki in Amrapali right?

Late as usual, but posting some of my favorites of the evergreen Shammi Kapoor ❤️

This beautiful song from Bramhchari, mein gau tum so jao. The way Rafi says So jao na, in between!! But my most favorite part from this is Shailendra's lyrics. Each and every line has such deep meaning.

One of my most favorite Lata Rafi duets. Muze kitna pyar hai tumse. Rafi has sung it so so beautifully, especially the way he mends Muze kitna pyaar hai tumse differently every time. And Shammi looks so handsome with those hazel eyes!

The lyrics wins here too for me.

Today is a day to feel proud about being a part of this great nation. May this spirit of freedom leads us all to success and glory in life.

🥳Happy 75th Independence Day🥳.

“Freedom of mind is the real freedom. A person whose mind is not free though he may not be in chains is a slave, not a free man. One whose mind is not free, though he may not be in prison, is a prison and not a free man. One whose mind is not free though alive is no better than dead. Freedom of mind is the proof of one's existence.”
