Happy Dhanteras my dear Rainbow friends.

Dhanteras, also known as Dhanatrayodashi or Dhanvantari Trayodashi, is the first day that marks the festival of Diwali in India and the festival of Tihar in Nepal. Dhanteras is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha . Dhanvantari, who is also worshipped on the occasion of Dhanteras, is the god of medicine who imparted the wisdom of Ayurveda for the betterment of mankind and to help rid it of the suffering of disease.Dhanteras marks the beginning of the five day festivities of diwali, The festival is celebrated as "Lakshmi Puja" is performed in the evenings when tiny diyas of clay are lit to drive away the shadows of evil spirits. Pooja and devotional songs in praise of Goddess Lakshmi are sung and "Prashad " of traditional sweets is offered to the Goddess.😃

Happy Narak Chaturdasi [ Choti Diwali ] my dear Rainbow friends.⭐️

Narak Chaturdashi is celebrated on the 14th day of the waning moon in the month of Kartik. The festival is also known as Narak Chaudas, Roop Chaudas or even Kali Chaudas. Hindus worship the God of death, Yamraj on this auspicious day. The festival also marks the defeat of demon Narkasur by Goddess Kali and Lord Krishna. Narak Chaturdashi is also celebrated as the second day of the five days long Diwali festival. It is called Choti Diwali as it marks the night before the grand Diwali celebrations.

On this day, there is also a specific mahurat called Nisheeth kaal, where all the useless and waste stuff from the house is thrown out. This tradition symbolizes the removal of poverty and bad health. Later after the sunset, the house and porch are decorated with diyas and candles to welcome the Goddess of wealth, Laxmi.
