Oh god. We have a ratio of 3:1 (boy:girl) in this next generation of ours. It's hilarious because in my generation, we are perfect. From my dads side we are 3:3 and from my moms side we are 6:4

We need to have more girls now. Infact, bhabhi and I were all for a girl this time. She was dreading having another boy, that was too much of a pain after a certain age. But then our little aadu happened. Not that we love him any less. He's the cuttest chubby baby I have seen. 😆

Since Expel's work has been mentioned, I mist say, her very best work is Shattered. It is so well thought out, so powerful. And, she adds so much meaning & depth to the nafrat paas aane na de, mohabbat door jaane na de. And, unconventional taste continues-I didn't like Shaadi. I usually love Expel's work but Shaadi was the one that did not click with me at all.I loved Hopes & Ambitions. Meera's stories are a must read. Asli Duniya has kept me from reading her ongoing FF but I have read everything else, including the Emerald Isle Trilogy that she has written & it was so worth it. Her A Word's Worth is so brilliant. And, she is rewriting one more now, I can't recollect the name. NaachBasanthi is the woman that got me commenting on FFs. I used to be a reader until she wrote Parichay & I wrote essays & the God! The endless discussions that SS spawned. Her Chasing Dreams & Chasing Love are not for the faint hearted, especially if you are uncomfortable with absolutely flawed leads who screw up so spectacularly. Semanti's The Same Coin is the best AU FF on ArHi, in my opinion. Slice of life, easy, realistic, funny & endearing. Jenny's stories are just as great. She is one author whose works are not to be missed. The_Rain's His Gardening Her Jalebi is one of the best FFs ever but she took a few years' break in the middle & is back now, but I am unable to catch up with it. SAY by Farah53 is an endearing read. But some of the best FFs were during the airing of IPK. SerialJunkie's The Filigreed Sun was one such. HeadOverHeels wrote my all time favourite ArHi FFs ever-Mystic Skies, Parallel Passions(2 books), Chains Trilogy(Chains of Silver, Chains of Gold, Chains Eternal). It is a shame she made all of it private. But those stories were something else. They were better than some of the published works that I have read. Mystic Skies especially stays with me. There is Unexpectedly Expected-the whackiest, most fun FF on ArHi you will ever read. There were some other writers who wrote some pretty serious themes with such great finesse, Arisai, Masam. Then, there was Eccentrica's Love, Life, Labyrinth. She published it. It was a romantic drama set in the corporate world & it had some of the best original characters ever added to ArHi FFs. Rudra Chaturvedi, anyone? Has anyone read it?
The only kind of FFs that I don't like are those that have contrived plot lines, or if Arnav is an irredeemable asshole(no rape or infidelity, period. I don't care how you think it can be justified or forgiven), or if I simply don't connect to the heroine & her actions. Finding Love-the problem was the third one I mentioned. I couldn't understand or relate to her Khushi. And, I don't like extremely sweet stuff, where they have a text book 100% romantic, lovely, flawless relationship & the leads are flawless. It simply doesn't connect with me. I'll read those over whacky ones like The Bucket List(which is lovely) or crazy intense ones with screwed up situations like in NB's stories. It is just a personal preference. Not saying there is anything wrong with a different preference.
I forgot to mention Publicenemy aka Devi. She is notorious for abandoning her stories but boy, can she write! Her Kalarikkal House is the one story I wish would reach completion no matter how long it takes. She drops in once in a year or so to add a chapter to it. So frustrating but it is so worth it. You will never hear me say that about any other writer. She has written other stories but again, wonderful & incomplete, they are. But Kalarikkal House is unlike any FF ever written on ArHi. So bloody brilliant. She weaves magic. Seriously. Nothing like her writing.

Ananya- I hope your sister is blessed with a healthy baby this time. That was just so heartbreaking. I don't think anyone who hasn't gone through such a thing can even fathom such a loss.

Lol. you should be sorry. I am so not reading all of that. I read the first and last half though. But then thats also because you and I are poles apart when it comes to reading. I'm not saying I like flawless things, that's too tacky. But I like near flawless things. 😉😆

My only funda of reading is that I read for fun and I read as a stress buster, so I'd like to not indulge in overly heavy or intense things that ends up ruining my normal functioning. I like rom-coms. I also like a little emotional things. But super intense things puts me off. Ofcourse, infidelity, rape, forced things, etc majorly puts me off. That is also one reason you will never enjoying stories on IF that go along with the original forced marriage track. They really piss me off. Watching it is different, but when I have to read it, it really starts affecting me, and so the marriage track was a super put off even in the serial for me. That was downright unacceptable, no matter what anyone has to say in its defense!

All these recommendations are great.. I stopped reading FFs after IPK went off air, and only started again during EJ. Now I'm reading 3 - Mirabell's Second Chances, Bluemystique's In This Moment, and Sin's Why Are You My Remedy..

I liked Mystic Skies, but didn't like the Chains trilogy. Arisai was a good writer, I liked her style. But I did like the lighthearted stories better than intense ones, and Angelteen's Finally! was one of my favourites..

oh I just went thru the thread... its about FFs... IF has some of the best writers... and with Arnav and Khushi people have created magic I must say.

my all time favorite FF will be Something About You... just like the name says it had something special...I can still go back and read it.
then Making Khushi mine both 1 and 2. it was just so good... Anonymous had one ss too.. For your sake.. actually she writes so well.
Meera30 is my favorite writer actually.. sigh! her FFs has been sooo good...her on going FF A River Runs Through It...so good... the mysterious feelings of Arnav is something to.look forward
then comes Sex Between Hearts... by ToxicLove... its also awesome... the Arnav in that FF is drool worthy and so dreamy... love him...lol

I used to read Tewari and sons...its so sad she left it midway

oh btw i must mentiom the FF Saffron fields by Jenny... her another FF The Impenetrable heart.. i read that recently... must read too

lastly.. these days I am into Sunshine and Moonligh by NoNsense...but her updating schedule is bad though lol

I know. It's difficult and I'm not going to insult it by saying that I understand. The pain of losing a baby (or anyone, for that matter) can only be understood by the person who was in that situation.

But things will look up. I know! I'm just going to keep that positivity and make sure that it reaches didi and the baby over the next month until the delivery of a healthy baby is announced! 😳

There was one other story by Jenny that I can never forget. A late spring. That was absolutely beautiful.
I loved Something About You. Meera had some amazing stories too.

Lol. Ananya, I have read so many FFs that my list ended up becoming that long. And, anyone who bothers to read the comment will see that a majority of those that I have mentioned are old FFs. I sort of stopped reading FFs a year or two ago. I used to be completely addicted to them until then. I got into contemporary romance novels which finally helped me de-addict from IPK Fanfiction. Not that I didn't enjoy reading FFs. But I had been wanting to move on & fanfiction was keeping me attached.
P.S: Do we have an update on Sobti's show? Someone on the other thread said, he is playing a cop.
