Don't get me started on Shamita! I felt sorry for her in that video when she had injured her nose and she cried about being in her sister's shadow, but the truth is, she got enough chances in BW, more than most people get, and definitely way more than outsiders. She got launched in a KJo movie, you can't ask for more. She is not a good actress, and at the end of the day, talent does show ... Even Shilpi is not a great actress, but she is a good dancer, and she managed middling success till she also gave up. Other star siblings have managed to make their own mark due to talent and hard work, those who were not talented or hard working, failed ... Of course Lady Luck also has a part to play. But Shamita could have tried another field when she found no success in BW ... Instead of now crying over not having her own identity.

Yup Shilpa is a better dancer. Agree with Diya above that Shilpa too was not a great actress but she managed to persevere ...had reallly tough times that gal and I am not pointing to her UK experience. Luck does play a factor and I liked the gal.

Well, while I read hereabouts after that video on Shamita in jdj where she says I am always compared to my elder sis unfair etc I could not sympathize with her on that. According to me if not for her sis i doubt she would have got any limelight then or even now.

I have no problems with the shetty sisters, am sure they work hard and all I am just not able to put up with KJO's comments on Shamita so blatantly "She belongs to my biradhari and I have to support her irrespective" crap.

I remember when shilpa made an appearance at the Colors-Ekta fashion line launch it was rumored that she would be judging JDJ.

Shamita got to work with a-list banners,yet she failed.that's her work which people didn't like and here she is blaming there werenot opportunities for her.
Coming to shilpa,she was good actress esp in dhadhkan,yet her stardom wasnot for long.then after winning big brother,she was in limelight and truly gained popularity again but,then not as an actress but as a business woman.so,it was bound that shamita faced identity crisis..but not as an actress sister but as a business women's sister.

She had her hits only with Multi starers like Mohabbatein. Zeher was kinda of a muti starer too more like a love triangle film. It aired on TV once when I use to have Indian channel in my old home the songs was good but the movie wasn't and neither did Shamita acting caught my attention.

Mohabbatein was an SRK an Aish film but are huge stars & Zeher is an Emraan Hashmi film who was a hit machine back then.

Shilpa couldn't make it big either but she's a good actress and have talent in her. She was good in Dhadhkan & Bazigar and plus a fabulous dancer.

It doesn't matter how good looking you are but it's hard to make it big in the industry with just good looks. Katrina had Sallu who helped her, She might not be a good actress but she's a fabulous dancer and would make a perfect item girl. She's one of my favorite eye candy to watch onscreen, Kat atleast have a good screen presences.

Can't say the same about Shamita at all.

And I feel like laughing when KJo calls her a star, superstar etc ... If she is all that great, why isn't she doing better in BW? Bokwaas!

Why didn't KJO helped her by casting her in an SRK film? If he want her to have a superstar status? if Shamita is a superstar then Uday Chopra & Tushar Kapoor are superstars too.

It's strange cause I don't get to watch too many Bollywood films here but I do catch them online and come to think of it I have seen Mohabbatein and that movie where Shamita is With the "kissing guy " in the Bhatt film of her's and trust me she is NOT up to the mark. For the fact tht she keeps saying she hasnt got the right platform and hasn't got her due, I am sorry but she isn't even close to being an average actor let alone someone who commands stardom. 😕

Her sister Shilpa too has carved a niche for herself, be it dancing or acting or Indian shows ...I am sure where there is enough will along with talent there has to be a way.

I skipped the part of her crying about her injury as I can't stand these stupid crying drama to the judges. If your going to cry atleast it should be Kushi ki Asoo not for reasons like you missed a step or your injured. These things look very bad as if you want sympathy scores. She's below average in acting for me since I have seen her work especially Mohabbatein I watched that film alot.

While we are at it, I wanted to share something I have been checking for a while now.. See people have a huge problem about IF super stars and seem to enjoy teaching us that there is a big world out there apart from IF..
